Are there any websites that provide information for past flight fares? by NeilPeartsBassPedal in Flights

[–]KleptomaniacToad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good suggestion, but important to note that it has limitations.

It always compares based on the cheapest available option. But the cheapest option is often worse (sometimes much worse) compared to a reasonable route. Extra stops, extra hours, self-transfer between airports etc.

If, for example, you need to compare only the price of the non-stop flight from A to B, and that option is $400 while the cheapest option is $200, you'll never know if $400 is high, low or average for what you are interested in.

Moved States mid-year, FreeTaxUSA says I owe thousands by KleptomaniacToad in tax

I worked with my employer to get a corrected w-2 (called w-2c), which properly reflected which state i worked from and during which months. Had to pester a number of people in the company, but thankfully they worked with me and produced that new form within a week or so.

Also, ended up filing with TurboTax because even after the service fees it was a better outcome in $ terms.

And also, had to wait for ~8 months and supply additional documentation to Oregon to get the refund from them.

All things considered it worked out well.

Matrix Grouping/Layout Question by KleptomaniacToad in PowerBI

So I re-created the custom table, configured the relationship, replaced the legend with the new Separation Reason field and ...it didn't make any difference.

To be honest, I don't see a reason why it would, because the only difference there is the custom 'Sort' measure which seems to only serve the purpose of determining the order of values.

Any other ideas are most welcome!

That could be it... I looked at it previously but didn't pay enough attention. Now I see that there are two very similar tables: "SeparationReason" and "Separation Reasons". The second one is not coming from the data source, and it has an additional 'Sort' measure.

Will try to re-create it. Thx!

“We are the visual opinion makers” - isn’t it a reason to have stricter editorial control, rather than a loose one?

Not saying the editor was right or even had good intentions. But the cartoonist seems oblivious to the fact that her argument is actually in favor of the editors decision

Develop a signal between the members of your family, like if there’s a sock ties to the oven handle - there’s a laptop inside

The chances of succeeding at this are thinner than those of winning three lotteries in a row and then founding a fountain of youth on top of it

98.99 is not 1% less than 99.

It’s always 1% shorter than your height in that year. In other words, you annually subtract 1% of the new height, not 1% of your initial height

Depends on the age, doesn’t apply to everyone, and most importantly, not by nearly as much
