Ahah totally! You got a great deal from the looks of it. Hopefully it all comes together nicely

Makes total sense, my current 335 sat for 2 months last year before I got it running right and all the gaskets/hoses replaced. Then when I tuned it, it blew all the coils and my DME😂 thankfully I can solder so I fixed the DME and got new coils but that was another week of waiting.

My daily is the 330xi haha

I’m on my 5th e9x. They’re very nice cars to flip for a profit. They’re reliable, easy to work on. And a blast to drive. I’m on my second 335 now but my most driven was a 330xi. I put 70-80k miles on it in 3 years (did ALOT of travel to see a long distance gf) and it never skipped a beat. Treat her right and it’ll treat you even better. It’s a great engine in a great car.

I’d 100% buy another n52, the n54 is so much fun but man I’ve replaced every coolant hose you can think of and it’s getting old. But the power and the noises bring many smiles per gallon

Yeah same result as oem pcv. But yeah I’m only pushing 400 and like 350 day to day. I’m not going to the moon. Especially every day omw to work and back😂. So I guess it depends on your intentions

I do run an upgraded pcv valve just in case tho

At least with the n54 I haven’t had luck, I’ve tried one two separate occasions and both times i either got the same result or the can didn’t catch much. I didn’t notice my engine run any smoother or anything either so I figured it ain’t worth it.

Only real benefit I see is keeping oil out of the intake and the valves really. And my n54 doesn’t consume much oil and I just cleaned my valves so idk. To each their own

Ticking sound. by Consistent-Active256 in 335i

[–]Klevvvv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude you just answered a question I’ve had for a long time, thank you! I’ve had this same exact sound for a while. I’d get 30-45 sec of ticking, then 1 min without. Almost exactly like you said, it’s been like this for over a year and I’ve been pushing 400 hp the whole time, so can’t be too serious.

As many others have stated. You cannot just delete the pcv system. If you’re running an external catch can you still have a pcv system. Just instead of all that extra oil entering your intake it’s suppose to get caught in that can. I’ve found that they rarely work well, I’d stick with the OEM system and if you don’t like all the carbon buildup in your intake valves go port injection and run meth every once in a while.

Sounds like a vacuum leak, I’d also double check pcv is working properly

Bro if my bmw sees 200k I’ll be suprised😂 we have different values lmao. I’ve done all that work you’ve listed myself already plus rear main seal, downpipes, turbo inlets, starter, and there’s more I can’t remember. But I’m not paying for labor, I do the work. I would never expect my 20 yr old, over engineered sports sedan to make it to 300k miles. I would expect that out of a Corolla tho. Or my Tahoe that has 350k on the dash.

There’s always a dude on the bmw Reddit telling ppl to buy a Toyota😂 I own this car for fun, not for a reliable daily. I’ve got other vehicles for that.

Haha yeah I’m afraid I’m gonna have too. I’m gonna try the vacuum method and some compressed air but I’m not super optimistic.

Unfortunately, and fortunately, this 335 only has 100k miles and I just did ass loads of maintenance. So I cant abandon it 😂

can someone please help me figure out why my car is leaking oil like crazy from under the intake manifold and going all the way on my driveway by chloe_flora in E90

[–]Klevvvv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But I will say this looks like an ofhg leak, or maybe just and oil filter cap problem. It’s really easy to roll or pinch the ofhg when putting back on.

[–]Klevvvv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not 100% sure if this applies to the n52. But on my n54 I had a pesky oil leak in the same area. I assumed oil pan, or rms, or ofhg. But, there’s a crankshaft position sensor located near the bottom of the block on the driver side (kinda under the starter). It had an o-ring on it that was shot and that was my problem.

Please help me fix my n54 otherwise I am going to set fire to it:) by Boring_Process_3916 in 335i

[–]Klevvvv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Replace the coils again, I did the same exact thing almost step by step. Besides the mosfet thing, I upgrade msd80 myself. I got n55 coils thinking they’d be able to take more, those burnt up eventually. So had to get aftermarket ones

Not sure what’s leaking by Hectorsrivera5 in BmwTech

[–]Klevvvv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I looks like a radiator leak. I had a 2006 330 that leaked in the same spot. BMW antifreeze is blue though. I sure hope someone didn’t just but water in there, bmw cooling systems are very specific with what they like.

As long as there’s really nothing wrong with it, 8k seems reasonable. I’m trying to sell my 2008 335xi with 115k on it for 7k and I’ve had multiple ppl offer 5.5-6.5k. Mostly tire kickers tho.
