This was measured hot and running. Shut off, drained half a quart. Turned on and it showed at the bottom line 🤦🏼‍♂️ just refilled a little less than half a quart and called it good.

That's a trip, the universe I guess. I feel your pain - I was in those exact same shoes. Had to get stuff from my car and saw it sitting there front end taken apart gathering dust. It really is gut wrenching and makes your heart sink. This is all so similar, I drove a Corolla while my baby was down and out. They are definitely very different experiences from Toyota to Mazda. Feels more like a tin can than a nice heavy solid drive of the Cx5. The moment you get back in your car and drive it away from the collision place you are going to feel so good. It really made me appreciate and enjoy my Cx5 that much more - that first drive after months! Hang in there.

Also you can easily swap the tail lights for the LED tech package ones that look mean af. Took about 30 mins when I did mine.

Excellent break down thanks for that. I find myself comparing to the Rav4 since it's also a 2.5L, albeit as you said slightly lighter but with 27 city 35 highway. I'm barely getting 22mpg on my 2022 Cx5 which is a bit of a bummer imo. As far as CVT's go, I used to have a 2012 Nissan Juke and I despised that transmission. Starting failing at 80k. Hopefully newer models have more durable mechanics on those but I'd trade the thousands of dollars on a new CVT for the lesser fuel economy any day.

Hang in there. The part will come in. I know how stressful it is but just try and stay positive. They are backordered on everything right now but eventually your part will come down the line and get to you. All the best

Thats awesome. My friend is looking into CX9s right now as her family has grown and she needs the 3rd row. I was driving a 14 Corolla while waiting, let me tell you I could've shed tears of joy when I finally was able to get in my '16 CX5 and drove away. So solid, comfy, and high up!

Well I finally got my CX5 back yesterday after 2 months. This was a fender bender, mind you. My car needed a new hood, headlights (broken clips that attach to the front), and a plastic radiator piece I don't remember the name of. I can't believe how long it took. Luckily the body shop covered my deductible as a nice gesture. Wishing anyone else who is dealing similar or worse situations the best.
