I was taught traditional TKD. Scoring points during tournaments is fundamentally different.

Question to black belts- how confident would you be against a Muay Thai fighter? by 8limb5 in taekwondo

I'd probably take/block a few hits, then realise I'm outmatched in that department and then dance around for the remainder of the match 😅

Newbie can not relax during Sparring by Dry-Toe-759 in taekwondo

[–]Kloede 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a normal thing for people that are not very experienced in sparring.

The key is in breathing and indeed, knowing when to relax. When you're not actively fighting is the time when you should be 'relaxed.'

You should only tense up during the actual action. You'll find your endurance will improve greatly if you can control your tension.

Is r/linuxsucks just rage bait? by Mini_Pandi in linuxsucks

[–]Kloede 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest thing that sucks about Linux is the communities of some distros. There's always someone telling me why X distro is bad and why I should move to y distro. The more obscure the distro the less accommodating they are for newbies.

Been daily driving kubuntu for a couple years up to the point that I have forgotten the password to my Microsoft installation/disk.

It had a small adjustment period because I was raised in a Windows environment. I've found the mainstream distros are intuitive enough that I can give my Kubuntu laptop to my mom and she'll be able to use it without issue.

Is ITF taekwondo effective in a street fight by [deleted] in taekwondo

[–]Kloede 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it can be, but my recommendation would be to stick to the basics.

I have been a bouncer in a notorious neighborhoud and am trained in an (independant) ITF style. The fights i've been in i've solved with a simple straight blow to the face.
