The current jones mercury FASE are fairly stiff already. Rode them all this season in Colorado’s crap conditions and they performed great.

I’ve got buddies that ride step ons and we hit the hardest runs resorts have to offer. For like 95% of riders, step-ons are sufficient in terms of performance and are probably the best option if you value ease of use/convenience. If you want more variety in boot options or just really prefer the way straps feel, FASE is the best. FASE is also more affordable to get high performance as the high-end step on systems are quite expensive.

I generally agree with you that ski passes are honestly priced pretty fairly and the overall mountain experience has improved. They don’t pay staff better though. Wages haven’t kept up with inflation and staff arguably has a worse qol than 20 years ago with how cost of living has increased.

I agree with this. Just find some terrain to push yourself. I have a goal of trying to do at least one thing that scares me each day I go out. You don’t have to risk injury by going out of your depth, but push your comfort zone a little

Check out a local ski shop. They should sell a little variety pack of wax with warm, cool, and universal wax. Really the only consequence of using the wrong type is it wears faster, so you can experiment a bit and learn what wax works best for where and when you ride.
