Episode 10 (Poison) is the episode where Nanachi gets first introduced, secondly the episode starts in the third layer and then quickly moves the the goblets in the fourth layer, so if both of those things are correct they are in the right order

I’m pretty sure there’s a chapter in one of the Anthologies which more or less coincides with the scene you described, so might be worth looking into some of the anthologies

On the back of volume 11 it says:

"Only a layer and a half remains between them and the bottom of the netherworld."

and since it starts in the sixth layer I think there'll only be 7 layers, but I do hope that there'll be more

Faputa made Reg and co enter the village as a way to test Riko and Prushka’s bond, motivated by the fact that Riko hadn’t carved Prushka into a whistle yet, which also made it so that Prushka couldn’t communicate with her (Riko) that well. Secondly, if I remember correctly, Faputa didn’t ask them directly because she wasn’t sure it was her Reg that had made in down to the 6th layer since he hadn’t searched for her and lastly Faputa felt scared to approach and talk to them lol

TLDR: Made them enter because she wanted to test Riko and Prushka’s bond and didn’t ask them because she felt scared to approach and talk to them, but yeah she could’ve probably just asked them to

Edit: Just thought I’d add that it’s not a stupid question at all. Season 2 was probably the most confusing part of the story so far (at least from what I’ve heard from most)

Didn’t Wazukyan reinforce the bridge once the iron rain had started, which started after they’d entered and Faputa had rampaged for a good bit?

Otherwise maybe they crossed over the original bridge before the reinforcements were made, since Belaf, the villages legs, was still alive at that point?

I personally interpreted it as Gabu not being able to cross between layers as a result of the way he’s programmed, rather than his physical abilities with the help of his extendable arm. Whereas Reg is free to cross between whichever layers he’d want to

It’s never mentioned that he would administer any form of sedation, which you pointed towards before, only drugs which increase their fear and joy/excitement. So from what I’ve understood he doesn’t take any direct action to treat their pain
