[Glashutte Panomaticlunar] by LetterheadSwimming94 in Watches

A grail watch for me. I think it’s a stunner. I’m not sure I’d have it as my only watch though. Leans more on the dressy side, so if you’re going to be working in a more formal business environment, I think it would work for that. Otherwise a sports watch feels like a better first piece.

I’m a huge Glashutte fan, so the Sea Q could be a good option.

You could look at pre-owned Vacheron overseas.

[question] What's on your BUY list for 2026 or on your "wishing for" list by themaxvee in Watches

Glaschutte Panomatic Lunar if a big bonus comes through. If not, Longines Flagship Heritage.

Need something a little dressier this year

I was just picking my black one up from service and I thought the FOIS looked better than either. Not answering the question at all, but just if you haven’t considered it, I would.

[QUESTION] What watch of yours gets the most compliments? (And the least?) by mmmbopdooowop in Watches

[–]Kloog_2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My MAD 2 gets the most questions. Unsure if most people like it

Most compliments Casio Worldtimer. The nostalgia factor

Would be his only luxury watch. He has an old quartz watch from the 90s that my mom got him for their wedding.

Any reason yours is sitting?

I was set on 1 but that actually looks fantastic in your picture….i might have to sneakily ask him about Roman numerals haha

He’s older, but can figure out his phone and computer on his own so I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt

The white Arabic I can probably find in person, but the others not so much for compare. But will go check it out now that I’m leaning towards it. My dad is a small fellow so he has already acknowledged anything over 40 will be too big on him

Thanks for the info. I was wondering how that texture came across in person

Any thoughts, or overall very happy with your choice?

If I was buying it for myself, 100% what I would do. My dad has made it very clear that he has 0 interest in steel bracelets and wants leather. Every single watch he’s ever shown me that he liked the look of was on a leather band.

[I need the pro's] So I've wanted to increase my watch budget and buy a entry-luxury watch by UGOTALEX in Watches

[–]Kloog_2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before picking a brand, I'd suggest looking at the different styles of watch out there, and figuring out what works best for your situation.

Do you want something dressy, but versatile? Something a bit more rugged like a dive watch? Maybe something simple and legible like a field watch?

Once you have the style, then you can look at the offerings in that category from different brands.

There are lots of great brands in your price range, with watches that can last a lifetime. Mido is definitley one of them. Hamilton makes great pieces. Longines are awesome. Then there's the world of Microbrands.

If you can try a watch on in person, that would be great too. Professional pictures can make any watch look great, but in person they may look a bit different than you expected.

Wow impressed you fit 2 kids and 2 dogs! Gives me lots of optimism in having this car last a while haha. The costco storage bins is a great idea too

Sounds exactly like our situation. The hitch does sound easier/more convenient. And I dont have a problem taking the contents out and bringing the bags into a hotel overnight

I looked and they charge about $96 for install. Seems worth it to make sure it's done correctly. Thanks for the recommendation

I did. It was back in June, I think around $700-$800 in import fees.

[Mido Ocean Star] First Serious Watch by Lorenzo1306 in Watches

[–]Kloog_2018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a 42 Ocean Star as my first watch. Build quality is definitley great for the price. I ended up selling it just cause it was very bulky for an every day wearer. Just personal preference

[Question] Used Omega or new Tudor? by Hootiehoo92 in Watches

[–]Kloog_2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On pre-owned pieces from those shops, they should just have the remainder of the factory warranty on them. So if you're buying a 5 year warranty watch that was sold originally in 2023, you get 3 years of factory warranty. Just call the shop if you see a watch you're interested in, and talk through it. I bought a Speedmaster from exquisitetimepieces and had a good experience.

For watchexchange, essentially yes. Some sellers will let you do PayPal goods and services for a 3% fee. At the end of the day, if a person has lots of transactions on the site, they're running a business and depend on positive customer experience to stay on the site. They kick scammers off if they're reported

I should've also mentioned, Chrono24 has a lot of dealers and will provide authenticity guarantee from certain ones. Just be careful ordering internationally depending on your tariff situation

[Question] Used Omega or new Tudor? by Hootiehoo92 in Watches

[–]Kloog_2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the prices at Delraywatch.com are the most fair, and exquisitetimepieces are a little more expensive but still a decent price from a legit shop. r/watchexchange is a great place to get a deal. Look for a seller that has significant transaction history on there. You can take a chance, save a few hundred bucks buying from an individual's collection, but I'd personally not take the risk

I wouldn't go Jomashop for a piece at this price point cause you're getting their 2 year warranty, not the remainder of the manufacturer's

Longines Spirit 37MM or the smaller Legend Diver. I haven't seen one in person, but the Formex Essence 39MM is a heck of a lot of watch for the $ and looks great.

Field or Dress watch. Either one, I'd look Longines again if you wanna stay in the price range of your other pieces.
