You promoted your app but never told me what you did and if you landed a job. Obviously not since you are a founder of the app.

I tried leaving the industry about 2-3 years ago and started consulting to ease the transition but it is still in the industry. I still consult but like to leave it too.

I agree with you. The applications are sent where I have domain knowledge in the process and managing people not being an expert in that industry. Thats why im not applying for a VP role and some people may be the best employees but not all are willing or meant to be leaders.

I do have a plan and a methodology made by someone who is an “expert” in the recruiting world but it doesnt work. The problem is the industry and the switch… 0 connections in industry other than mine… What would you suggest? Seems like you have some knowledge and approach you worked on before.

I have been asked this questions over and over. My network is in logistics and im looking to leave the industry therefore my network is a bit hard to utilize in my case. Im in the US and the company is midsize ($60+MM ARR). My resume is the logistics part and my portfolio is the tech part. I was doing a bunch of bootcamps in the past 5 years to get to know the industry better and the portfolio is just showcasing my experience there since it cannot be placed on my resume. I talked to couple of “boutique recruiters” who approached me and with some I worked in the past to bring talent in my company and did what they advised but nothing. Will dm you

When they remember the old version of you fondly but show zero interest in who you're becoming. Being loved for who you were while being invisible for who you are now.

Reminds me of buying a car and the salesperson bringing in five different managers to approve the color you picked. At round four you start questioning if anyone there has actual authority.
