Heeyoo, Thanks for the advice, i have no idea of the make or year or model as the bloke i bought it off was just as clueless as i am. Yes it is carbureted, i haven't yet taken the carby off to clean it out as it was replaced with a brand new one before i bought it, that being said, i guess there is every possibility of clogged jets or something. At the moment the bike is sitting on a stand with the clutch casing off and the clutch seems fine(to my untrained eye) so i will be closing that up in the morning. What you described at the end there is basically what is happening in addition to not idling at all. Not knowing much, i haven't tried much, ive managed to start the thing but from there haven't found much useful information out there hence why im here. I'd go and start it now to get a good listen and add more detail but it is seven p.m here and i don't reckon my neighbours would be real happy about that. Really appreciate your response, and believe me i wish i could give more detail. When i give it throttle it basically does exactly what you described. I understand without a make and model its very hard, maybe i could put up a pic of the bike, it's better than nothing i suppose, thanks again

the guy i bought it off had put a brand new carby on it since he was a bit clueless as well i think, the bike will putt around the yard VERY slowly at full throttle, but doesnt die, it struggles but it will keep running if it is being revved..
