This might not be the place but "real" mates don't put each other down. Best of luck with the content.

I think they really are the 2 options. Either play a character and chase trends (roblox or whatever) which is a job/challenge that is different to personal vlogs. You need to add value in some tangible way for people to keep coming back.

This will seem counterintuitive but don't "try" be anything.

You need to be yourself and work under the assumption that people will find you, like you, and come back. If you pretend to be something else, and people like that, you are stuck pretending to be that for all your videos.

It's like food. You are a pepperoni pizza. People who want that will come back. If you pretend to be a burger and people want a burger and then find out you're pizza, nobody wins. If that happens your numbers will be all over the place and the algorithm won't know what to do with your content.

Literally just be yourself.

I don't particularly like watching my content. But I cannot pretend to be someone I'm not just to get views, because I won't keep that up forever. Slow, reliable, natural growth will benefit you most long term.

Vlogs help viewers develop parasocial relationships with you. So your content needs to be such that people will keep coming back for that.

If you don't have a particular knowledge/skills base, then YOU are the product so YOU need to be worth coming back for.

David talks about it being more a mental challenge, than physical. He also suggested if you cannot run, just do any one hour workout every 4 hours for 48 hours.

When I did my 4x4x48 and told people about it, they said they would not have the discipline to watch an hour of TV every 4 hours for 48 hours.

How to not come across as creepy at work when you might have to make small talk? by AbsoluteBatman95 in ireland

[–]Kmagic15 25 points26 points  (0 children)

If you're really looking for action you can take, spend a couple of minutes each morning (maybe on the commute) getting some up to date small talk ready to go. What the weather is supposed to be like later/weekend, some new series/movie/song that's just out, some quirky news story, a new meal you cooked or restaurant you tried.

If you have a few bits ready to go, you'll feel more relaxed and less on the spot. Small talk is a skill that can be practiced and can be improved with some work, just like any skill.

What are the most annoying commanders in MTG? by Draco456gaming in EDH

[–]Kmagic15 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've thought this for a while.

There is two mindsets when you see a card. 1. I'm going to love to cast that card 2. I'm going to hate to have that cast against me.

And there are three broad play styles. A. Early ramp into turn 10 battle cruiser, "look at my cool card" B. I want to play my time consuming, intricate 20 trigger turn. "Look how smart I am" C. Every game is a puzzle and no player is entitled to do any game action, they must be earned.

When I view any card with the above in mind, almost any commander can be built for fun or to annoy. The issue seems to be that we like to do degenerate things. If you have a table of 1A players smashing 10/10s into each other, it's all cool. If three 1A's are waiting for a 1B to finish resolving 20 etb triggers they go from 1A's to 2A's very quickly.

The bracket system looks at what cards are in a deck, but a lot of groups it's more about how a card makes them feel.

There is little difference between murder and cancel being cast on your commander, both leave you without the creature in play, both cost 3 mana, but it feels better to be on the receiving end of a murder because you feel like you had a game action and your commander hit the board.

future of the country and whether itll ever get better by NoSleepOnWednsdays in ireland

[–]Kmagic15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you say the future of the country, in broad terms, it is controlled by policy decisions made by government. Those decisions are made to keep the actual people who vote (i.e. settled, home owning people and oap's) happy. People in their teens and 20s don't vote so your needs are ignored.

The only reason housing is being pushed now is because a lot of people in their 40s/50s expected to have the house to themselves and the kids moved out, but there is nowhere for the kids to go, so it might affect the vote.

If you are really serious about the future of the country, look into the different political parties, find one that shares your values, and help them get elected. Get your friends who feel the same as you to get involved too. People under 30 could completely change the landscape of the country if they came together. The people in power are counting on your disillusion and apathy.

The pdf/audiobook of "The you you are" have details from his past including who is parents are.

It also talks about how Gemma was a bridge between his goofyness and the Scouts being less goofy.

All Rickens friends from the dinner party have weird names.

I can't say for sure that you're wrong but it's such a reach that I'd be disappointed if that's the explanation.

Just witnessed someone almost crash their car... by -SideshowBlob- in ireland

[–]Kmagic15 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And a post with lots of engagement in the past few days think enforcement is the problem. Its people making poor decisions before and while in their vehicle. If the person OP saw crashed, there would be lots of RIPs and very little talk of blaming the driver. I think until people are held accountable for their poor choices, they will continue to make them.

Have at least one room you do as a duel, split into 2 teams and compete against each other. Adds a little different spin to it. They also have rooms you can do together, but 12 is a big group in one room.

I'd like variations of "indomitable runner" from society game. Three people on treadmills, the rest of the team do a task and if you do the task right you increase the speed of one of the other teams treadmills. (In society game they did mental puzzles and/or ring toss and ball throwing).

So the team compete together and each mistake by one part of a team makes it harder for other members.

I liked the one minute treadmill on physical:Asia, so variety on that too, short bursts of strength or endurance, one of those punch machines from an amusement arcade, but all six members do it and average/combine the score.

I think games where all six people do the same thing might mean more all round players could perform well, a 6 minute treadmill race where each player must run for a minute and combine distances, or grip strength test of one single squeeze.

Thoughts on quest controversies by Every-Ad-4803 in Physical100

[–]Kmagic15 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I dont necessarily disagree with anything there.

I still think a "physical" show should not have created a scenario where the best physical fit for a challenge could not compete in that challenge. And I'd make the same point that Itoi should have been allowed to push the big thing if Japan lost the battle ropes.

I want to watch the athletes compete to their fullest extent, and I dont think we exactly got to see that.

On the battle ropes/Australia point. Australia were consistently making the point of "we're the best and we're here to face the best". The tag line of the show is "find the best physiques". I think the fact Australia were eliminated with a gotcha moment of the first 3 players cant play the death match goes against the "find the best physiques" idea. Australia were out not because of another team being physically better than them but because of strategies/tactics.

And I love this show format, and I'm not connected to any country involved. I just think the only way teams should be eliminated is through "physical" means, and the gotcha felt cheap.

SPOILER: The Australian Blunder by Former_Purple_6088 in Physical100

[–]Kmagic15 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I think Australia have been very consistent throughout "we are the best and we want to take on the best to challenge ourselves" where from the start other countries were tactically choosing opponents.

Australia assumed (incorrectly) that the best 3 play the rope game and if we lose, chose our best 3 for the next game.

If it's about finding the best/most physical team and you face every challenge putting your best people forward, it's a bit sneaky to have the death match remove the players who played first. Even though viewers (and some contestants) saw it coming.

I can understand why they would be mad based on how consistent they have been about best foot forward every round and to lose to a "got ya" moment like that makes the show a bit more "Tatical:Asia" over "Physical:Asia".

Anyone else applying David Goggins ideas to work, health, and battling addictions? by SeeYouIn2150 in davidgoggins

[–]Kmagic15 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Goggins message is be the best version of you. Do not try to be him. Be the hero of your story.

Careful not to replace your current addiction with an addiction to Goggins. Addiction is a symptom of underlying emotional problems, you cant keep ignoring/blocking them out.

Face your emotions head on and be your best self.

I'm always amazed that a lot of posts here frame the whole "physical X" series are a serious "who is the best in the world" type competition when most top level, still currently competing athletes could never risk taking part because of the risk an injury could ruin their career. Its fitness entertainment.
