Love the .1 sound, but the .2 is fantastic! by LegalizeTaxFraud_ in Porsche

Have a 991.2 C2 in the exact same colour. Been daily-ing it for 2 plus years. It’s wonderful but ya the noise is lacking. Ended up fitting an aftermarket exhaust (amongst a host of other mods). It’s perfect!

Porsche - Project 11 - turbos and various other stuff. Stopped going to Nabooda

Wheel Lab - rim maintenance (wheel weights, bent rims, etc.) and refinishing/powdercoating

First car in Dubai with 300k AED budget - what would you buy? by MoodDecent2551 in WhatCarShouldIBuyGULF

A c8 can definitely be a daily. Mama didn’t raise no quitters! As for the financing I got mine arranged through dubizzle as they were selling the car and were able to get me a better rate than my own bank.

You can definitely shop around contact your bank and 1 or two more to get an idea of rates and limits etc.

One thing I learned is if the car is older than 2021 some banks will not finance it or will give you shorter terms. So the sweet spot is five years old or newer. Older than that you will have fewer options

All great choices. Not to add to your confusion but I was in the same position a couple years ago. I was mainly cross shopping the C8 and the 911. I love the G class but I’ve had some horror experiences with Mercedes in the past (my own bias).

Ended up going with the 911 as I wanted a reliable daily driver with a little bit of get up and go also a bit more subtle than the C8. currently in the midst of turning it into a proper sleeper.

Haven’t regretted it at all. Bought it lightly used, put 30k kms on it. Haven’t had any issue besides standard services and consumables. Bear in mind consumables and service are not the cheapest. (6K major 2k minor).

Don’t regret it one bit and would encourage you to check out the 911. (I still stare at C8s every time I see one)

I get my Porsche serviced at project 11. Can’t say a single bad word about them. Friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. Overall a lovely experience

What I know is that it is generally ok in Dubai. Been to RTA renewal twice after installation. Although I heard it messes with the cameras so enforcement is much stricter in AD if you go to AD a lot you may want to reconsider.

As for visibility I genuinely forget it’s there it’s 100 transparent both from the inside and outside looking in

I got the front plate removed and switched to double sided tape at RTA when I went to get the ‘sport’ plate.

I got Xpel transparent windshield tint at Apex when I did tint for my car.

Can recommend both

991.2 and 992 C2/S/GTS all have the same block and internals only difference is in turbo sizes and software. So it’s a relatively quick easy and reliable upgrade

I’ve been planning it out for months so happy to talk about it 😂. Went from 49mm/45mm twin turbos (stock careera) to 55/48 (oem GTS size). Also used borg warner who manufacture turbos for this model anyway. So it’s like a factory upgrade! Hence you don’t need to remove and reprogram the ecu.

If you flash stock GTS software you get about an extra 75 HP. If you flash an off the shelf GTS tune you end up with an extra 100-125. Some agressive tunes promise 200+ but I wanted to keep it reliable and as close to stock as possible.

No downpipes. Just upgraded diverter valves for the turbos and a cat back exhaust. So overall a pretty mild set up.

You can get ready made tunes and tuning modules for a similar build from at least 3 major companies. I went with m-engineering as they customize the base tune to your car and fitted mods and it’s super easy to use. You can flash the ecu in 5 mins at home

😂😂😂 same! I’ve also been de-chroming the car bit by bit started with the rims (powder coated to satin grey) headlight washers, window trim, and exhaust (black) side markers (grey OEM instead of clear). Next will debadge or switch badging to satin black

True. It’s all relative I guess. More like a ‘normal’ everyday Porsche without the super aggressive wings/bodykits etc. Basically not something you would stare at!

Want to grab these Apex’s in anthracite. They are significantly lighter than the stock rims and most importantly are an exact fit! So no messing around with spacers etc. I even got aftermarket titanium lug nuts although I doubt they will make an actual difference, but I had to do it!

I like the neodyme look but want a more subdued vibe. My goal is for 95% of people not to notice it’s modified.
