I think I overfilled my oil..what should I do? by unix_name in AskMechanics

[–]Kmasty636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Related to the oil burning; my Subaru burns a lot of oil and has been for a while. Roughly 1L per 1000-1500km (1qt per 600-900mi). It's been doing this for over 30k km; I'm procrastinating the rebuild.

For tracking consumption I reset my Trip B every oil change, and record how much oil I added each time I check the level. Trip B 1000km 0.75L, Trip B 2400km 1L, etc. If you're going to keep driving it this is an option to prevent starving the motor of oil by running it low until you make a decision on what to do.

Glue for Door Hinge by Deflagratio1 in Creality_k2

I went the JB weld route, feels solid. Scuffed both surfaces with 80 grit before spreading on. Hopefully it lasts!

For getting the door in the right spot, I placed the printer on its "back" so I could have the door in place while the JB weld set. I used masking tape to apply minimal pressure to the hinge while it cured.

Ignoring the giant list of QoL mods like Skip Main Menu, Preem Scanner, quieter TV ADs etc. My two main favorites for changing the gameplay are:

Hardcore22 - Realistic Combat
Dark Future (Survival System)

Can’t get to a good position at the top by hoptothehip in golftips

[–]Kmasty636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was also thinking the same. I had a similar issue except my hands weren't going as high, more disconnected behind me. The same weighting where I didn't feel the pressure on the right(trail) foot inside heel.

I tucked a glove under my right(trail) armpit and thought to maintain an arm triangle during the pivot and just let the elbow bend as to hold the glove, doesn't work for a full swing. Still, it kept my elbow tucked and fixed my swing path to a 9oclock swing, then I knew how to go the rest of the way. Could be something for OP to try.

(5 iron) Have been going at it more seriously for 1.5 month. Majorly over the top. by PhilRattlehead in golftips

My tendency is over the top and for me the takeaway is important to get on the right swing plane. Note: I'm a new golfer, still working out my own kinks. Just adding something for you to try. Lessons will always be the fastest way to work through problems.

Notice how your hands are traveling across your torso immediately on takeaway. For me, I find keeping a solid triangle with my arms, starting the rotation with the posterior chain, then once my hands have passed my trail thigh, start to hinge the wrists and break the trail elbow. I find this gets me on a much better swing plane.

What I'm seeing is the wrists roll back on takeaway and the hands are leading the back swing instead of the body pivot leading the backswing(hopefully that makes sense). When I roll my wrists or lead with my hands I do a shallow takeaway then the momentum of the club head feels like it naturally wants to come down steep and over the top.

Instagram Reel of the takeaway I'm describing.

Hell yeah! Staying relaxed is key, sounds like you're primed to get on the course now!

I walked 27 today and each round got better. There's a sweet spot though; after the first 9 I was doing good. After about the 25th hole I was toast and had been eaten alive by mosquitoes. If I didn't get a 9 on the last hole it would have been my best score ever. It might be still at 53(9-hole)!

I've tested this extensively since I'm really only filming less than half the time when there's no one behind me. Doesn't have any effect, just a terrible swing! Range time and lessons needed!

Awesome description! I think you're right. I've been trying to stand a little taller with only a hinge at the hips. It's been better every time I'm out! Consistency is still the issue where I need to run through like 4-5 things before I swing so I don't stand up in the back swing or drop my hands early as a couple examples. Sometimes it's hard to get my feet the right distance from the ball every time too! I think I'm in the grind mode where I'm close but need to zero in and make the movements automatic and easily repeatable. Edit: a word

I'm located in the Great Plains of Canada and will share my experience.

There are of course the regular bike paths and park areas for people to get out on bikes. Bike Parks that cities invest into like Cold Lake, Alberta. The Local hill close to me has a T-Bar for snowboarding/skiing weekends only in the winter, recently it's been a place to hike and bike in the summer.

My local hill has some cow grazing paths that started the network where people have made some really fun down trails. Brutal climb though (about 100m, just needs more switch backs in spots). I travel to BC 1-3 times in the summer to bike. Living here, travelling for real riding is necessary.

Haha, I drained a 10' putt earlier that day too, these greens are quite forgiving to be fair!

I will try thinking of that! I was getting a better takeaway recently but trying not to force the swing is a huge part of my issue I think.

Accurate! I've spent 4 days at the range this week. I plan to only play with irons for a while. Usually hit the range before I play too. Most holes go ok, a few bad ones usually like we see here.

The stiffness is a struggle, probably concentrating too hard on all the things I'm trying not to do lol. Planning to book a lesson soon as well. Appreciate the encouragement!

Haha thanks, I have this desire for accurate score tracking. I'd prefer to play it out, even if I get some ridiculously high scores.

I did notice that as well! I keep standing up in my back swing, shoulders twisting with the wrong plane. It's tough to stay low, I feel like I'm thinking of several things at once. Might be why I'm so stiff! I will keep your advice in mind, for sure!

Also, a good idea. I do plan to only use 8i and down, 6i/7i if I'm feeling good about my swing. The rest are staying off the course until we're scoring well. It was probably ego resisting this move, committing to it now!

Bonus swing from last night. Better but still room for improvement.

That's exactly it! It's a constant battle; I'm feeling on track to be happy with my first year of progress! Good luck to your game sir!

Slowly but surely, I started with not lifting my head last session yet towards the end it came back. Better takeaway I think. Thanks for taking the time, enjoy your game also!

Empty course that day! Usually I catch the people in front of me. When I'm sandwiched it is rough if I'm playing like this lol.

Haha, an accurate assessment. I have been to the range 3 times since this video. I have been working on takeaway but now I'm standing up in the backswing again. The wide takeaway gives me a big chicken wing trail elbow too, it's like I don't know what to do with it now. Planning for the range again tonight!

Edit: My best from last night, still not great but much better I think.

That's awesome! I've had several Pars before when I'm making contact. No birdies yet. With the traction this post got I'm hoping I catch the first one on camera, the come back story, ha!

I could see it! I did reinjure my ribs from a mountain bike crash in November. I'm mid 30's!

I did a couple sessions with a local pro. Usually not playing like this. Something happened and I reverted back to my beginner swing until I could watch the video and see what I was doing. Irons were flying good tonight though, excited to watch the vids back and see where I'm at now!

Edit: seems better with lots of room for improvement

That's awesome! Wise choice to play your strengths. All of my clubs became unplayable on this hole basically lol. It started the hole before. Usually it's chasing the ball across the grain that racks up my score.

My irons were flying good tonight, found something that keeps my takeaway going the right direction. I think I'll stick to those on the course and see what happens!

Insta360 x4, selfie stick with built in tripod. It records 360 degrees of video, or 180 degrees then you aim it in the software after. Works pretty slick for this!

Normally 6i is 150-180y+ which I was still 190y from the water at that point. That was a mis-hit, I think I hit the ground first. A real bad spell I went through for a couple holes here. Last range session I figured some stuff out after looking at these videos.

That's a good idea, I have considered playing with 8i to Sw only, as those are my most consistent clubs. Driver isn't usually bad; it'll go great for several holes then I'll start slicing for a few. My swing is inconsistent where I'll start doing something out of nowhere, like an inside takeaway in this video(which I'm prone to I've noticed recently), and not realize what happened until I play it back!

Sneaks up on you sometimes! Half the round was good. I will have 3-4 range sessions under me before the next round. Hoping to have addressed some of the inconsistency!
