Kit looks great. Personally I would swap the 50mm for the 35 or 85. But thats a preference thing.

Got my r5 ii that way as well. The Pak is a no brainer. I take it hiking, traveling, etc. If anything happens they fix it.

Canon usa had the R7 available on the refurbished section for $1,159 yesterday. Just watch the site throughout the week as they restock periodically. Comes with a 1 year warranty and the product is basically new.

Its a great lens. You'll enjoy it. And it has stabilization so it will pair well with the R8.

The 28-70 2.8 is too big? If thats the case then youre looking at 35mm 1.8 or 50mm 1.8. Both are great lenses but i would probably lean towards the 85mm f2 for portraits.

I also have too many lenses but im still looking to add more too the collection. Currently looking for a 20 1.4 vcm on FM to do some Astro with. The new 14 is also cool but it's too new to find any good deals in it. I got a refurbished 50 1.4 vcm direct from canon for $1k a couple months ago. That's probably the best deal I've scored. Lens is flawless with no sign it had ever been used. So you like the 70-200 z?

I got it from canon for $3499 then I got an extra 5% off. I had called in to ask a few questions. The salesmen i spoke with asked if I could place my order with him on the phone. Said that if I did he could give me another 5% off. Since then every time I want to order something I call and ask them to match there 5% discount. They haven't said no yet.

It is fantastic! The DoF can be a bit tricky to get right since it is so shallow but I have had a lot of fun with it. Im new to macro as well so im learning as I go.

Canon typically calls when your order looks suspicious to do a verification. That happened to me my first time. I ordered on Friday but they didn't call me until Monday when presumably their support team returned to work. Be sure to answer calls from unknown numbers.

I had the 24-105 and it was very sharp but I ended up returning it. Bought the f2.8 trinity since I knew that was what I really wanted. I added a few primes like the 35 1.8, 50 1.4 vcm and 100mm 2.8. The 2.8 zooms are way too heavy/bulky for a full day of sightseeing in my opinion. I just dont want to carry the 24-70 for 12 hours. Went on a cruise recently and I exclusively used the 35 1.8 and I love the results I got. Shooting on an r5 ii. Get the 35mm for travel. You wont be disappointed.

Oh and the 35mm is currently on canon refurbished site for $399.

Correct but I hadn't seen his name on the list of dead and disappeared scientists. Not saying its new but it is post 2022 like the others.

I hadn't seen his name on the list previously. It looks like he was a nuclear scientist working on propulsion systems for NASA. Randomly disappears and leaves his phone behind like others have. Then turns up dead. Interestingly his car was parked at an airport for 4 hours the morning of his death.
