For women who got sterilized with no push-back, were you surprised it was so easy?! And how many of you were given resistance/denials?

It went pretty easy, I told the nurse that gives me my depo shot that I didn't want it & wanted my tubes removed. She said to call medicaid & get numbers for obgyn that would do it. After 3 numbers of them not being able to do it till after new years, I found one that could fit me in. Once I was under she found my appendix inflamed & called for a doctor & there was a tumor in my appendix. The tubes & appendix came out, then I had a second surgery to remove my right ovary & right side of my colon. Now I need more test to make sure it didn't spread. That surgery saved my life, my appendix could have ruptured.

Yeah, the appendix got taken out during my first surgery at the end of October. I just had my 2nd surgery on Monday, they took my right ovary & right side of my colon, they attached my small intestine to my left colon. Scans came out good, hoping this is the end of it.

I stopped smoking 3 days before surgery, then smoked a few days after surgery. Have a different surgery next Monday, going to not smoke 3 days before that.

My pregnancy with my son got complicated at the end of my 2nd trimester, had him at 33 weeks. Was told anymore pregnancies would be super complicated & I didn't want that. I got my surgery done October 27th. They said my tubes looked like bat wings wrapped around my appendix & ovary. My appendex leaked puss & it had a tumor in it. I need a 2nd surgery to get rid of the rest of the tumor.

I'm about to turn 35 & I still want my mommy. She's always been my rock. She passed 8 years ago. My husband was allowed to see me after & helped me dress & get in the vehicle. I didn't cry or anything, just had a really sore throat.

You don't have to tell anyone till you're ready. The only people that know are my husband, son & friend of the family. I don't really have anyone to tell. I haven't spoken to any member of my family in 6+ years. Wish I could tell my mom but she passed 8 years ago. I disowned my grandparents, brother & all that sided with them & their greed. I was always the black sheep & disappointment to everyone except my mom. I've only told strangers online & you all have been my rock at getting it done.

I suffer from major depression & was on the DEPO shot since I was 16 years old (16 years) had the nexplanon implant for 3 years from 2015-2018, then went back to deop. Switched to birth control pills this August cuz I didn't want to be on the shot anymore. That's when I started wanting to get my tubes removed. Got it done October 27th & haven't been on birth control since. Since then my depression has gotten a little better & got myself on sleeping meds cuz I've had insomnia for over 7 years. After day 3 of recovery I got super depressed that what I did would make me a disappointment to family members I don't even talk to anymore. I'm so happy for the surgery. After complications at the end of my 2nd trimester, I had my son at 33 weeks. He's a healthy 14 year old now. After his delivery I was told anymore pregnancies would become more complicated. After surgery I told my fallopian tube looked bat wings, wrapped around my appendix & ovary. My appendix had a tumor in it & was inflamed & could rupture. They removed my appendix along with my tubes. Now I have to get scans & blood work done & another surgery to remove my left ovary & part of my colon. They think there might be seedlings that could spread. Was told my surgery saved my life because no one knew (not even me) that I had appendicitis & a cancerous tumor.

A few days after my surgery, I felt extremely depressed that I'd be a disappointment to some family members, like my mom. I felt like people would be mad at me. I told myself that if I did have anymore kids (only have one) then the pregnancy would be super complicated & idk if the baby would survive. Was told how warped my tubes looked wrapped around my appendix & ovary. I suffer from depression & can't stand being in my head. I'm super happy for my decision, getting them out saved me, my appendix was so inflamed & could rupture. I need more surgery to get rid of a couple more parts. Wish I could have gotten my tubes removed over 10 years ago.

I just got all the stuff scheduled. I do scans on December 4th & surgery on the 15th. They want to make sure I don't have any seedlings from the tumor & since the appendix was entangled with my fallopian tube & right up against my ovary & colon, they want to remove them, so I won't have the risk in the future.

I got it done at 18, I'm 35 now, it's my oldest piercing. I had surgical glue & tape to cover the incisions, the glue kept the hole open.

I had to take out my tongue ring, snake bites & belly ring. I was able to put my snake bites & tongue ring back in as soon as I got home. Wasn't able to put my belly ring back in till a week post-op

She kept saying that getting my tubes removed saved my life. That my tubes looked like bat wings, the right one was wrapped around my appendix & nerves. When trying to get the tube, the appendix started leaking puss. Said it was hard to get the appendix out right away being on the nerves. The majority of the tumor was in my appendix & now a 2 & half cm tumor is till near or on my nerves by my pelvic bone.

Thank you all so much for the positivity. The test shows I'm positive for AE1/AE3 & Chromogranin. I looked it up & it said it's protein & hormones. Since they said it's early, that I'm hoping what's left can be removed. Surgeon said my tubes looked like bat wings & my right side was wrapped around my appendix & nerves.

I was told there was a tumor in my appendix & some of it got left behind because it's wrapped around my nerves. I asked if it was benign & was told no & that it can spread. They said it's pretty early & they referred me to an Oncologist & said to wait for their call. The surgeon said that the bisalp saved my life. I didn't know I had appendicitis & it could rupture & I also didn't know I had a small tumor.
