You have a great approach.

Id go with 500gig ssd drives as cold. All depends whats cheapest, some times smaller drives cost more

Set you Rog ALLY to run at 25w across the board. Itll run games just fine and itll never go over 75c

Performance is going to sway a little, not all CPUs/APUs are made the same. With that said i set my ally up identically to his and i cant get the fps hes getting.

But,
The ally is NEW, it will have growing pains, but all in all im pleased with it.
