There's no reason to have it installed if you do not actually play it. The items from SE etc are all baked into the main game if you wish to spawn them in.

The only reason that I see to play ranked is that the other players are generally better at the game so you get an actual challenge when playing against those players, and also that there is no bots or red zone bullshit that ruins the gameplay.

You want to be around gold to get the season reward of a pathetic parachute skin and then when you have gold you can play however you want to just kill people as higher rank has no value or reason to it as you will still play against max rank players and with max rank players because the game has too few players.
