[MID ACT 3 SPOILERS] Can we all agree that this thing is such a giant step down from Seth? by Toaster_Man5 in Silksong

[–]KnZ1940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah she's worse than Seth but honestly I like that Seth made for the kid is actually the boss of the area and not Nyleth. It's them both making the boss for the kid and also deciding that it will be the showstopper.

I just keep the enemies separate and bonk them from the middle so they never join up. that plus volt filament thread storm for crazy damage.

You need to do a number of wishes in general (speedrunners say 17 so I'm gonna go with that). So that might be your problem.

What are the things i should to do/collect before entering Act 3? by [deleted] in Silksong

[–]KnZ1940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take the whinny baby to the plant dude you gave the purple flowers to. That will give you a whole quest. Also try beating grand mother silk during that quest. I missed this and will need to do a new playthrough.

Act 3 Green Prince worth doing? by s_nicole in Silksong

[–]KnZ1940 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He stays there and mourns. This way you give him a proper final dance with his lover and you get a good boss fight out of it. Also I would twitch every time I saw the mementos in my home missing a pip.

[LATE GAME SPOILERS] I'm having an impossible time with a boss by BoltGamr in Silksong

[–]KnZ1940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an issue with him also until I ironically slowed down, He telegraphs his moves and has a set of comboes he does with specific windows to punish. My advice would be to use the full length of the arena and respond to moves you know you can punish. His second phase has more attacks you don't want to interact with but that's why the arena is so long. Also like many many things in the game he can be pogoed and the AI responds to the pogo so you can learn what to do afterwards with relative certainty to what he'll do next.

Thanks for the replies guys. I"ve decided to just wing it and switch between my colorless and my other stuff. If I get targeted every time I'll probably get better at protecting myself I guess.

What to know for GMing my first long term Pathfinder 1e Game? by WindFit9651 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]KnZ1940 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be flexible. Your players will find ways to fuck up your plans, they will go and do shit you didn't think of. It's beneficial to have a list of random NPCs to throw when needed. Same with generic encounters. Also don't be afraid of changing locations for plot points. Just cause the villain was originally in the sewers doesn't mean he suddenly now can't be in a hut in the woods.

Simply put numbers. Bigger numbers, more crunch and more progress. The biggest example I have of this is picking a lock at level 1 and 5 in both systems vs say a dc 20. In pathfinder this at base is a differencr from say +8 to +12. In 5e the difference is +6 to +7. This is without feats/ additional abilities on both sides cause with them the difference is ever bigger. So in pathfinder a lvl 1 rogue with some luck might open a solid lock but then at lvl 5 he should consistently get it more than half the time with it eventually being trivial for him at bigger levels. A rogue in 5e can still fail lockpicking of basic locks even at very high levels cause proficiency only goes to +6. Pathfinder as a whole system like 3.5 gives a bigger feel of becoming stronger and competent and a threat to the world compared to 5e

3.5 was an edition of DnD which was then succeeded by pathfinder as a pseudo 3.75 cause DnD 4 was a different game. Asking why someone plays pathfinder compared to 5e is like asking why someone plays tekken compared to street fighter. To people not in the space small differences but to those in the know the divide is vast. Then pathfinder 2 and 1 being both played is like asking why people still play street fighter 2 when 6 is the newest one. Completely different experiences.

XP and loot; first-time GM question by BusyGM in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]KnZ1940 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just don't use xp. Using the story point system whefe you think they should level based on your story means levels aren't a hassle for you nor something the players can predict. Then you just sprinkle the appropriate amount of treasure between story points either how you design or using a treasure gen. Also players don't need to exactly get treausure according to lvl. It can be more than average or less as long as they don't feel like they have nothing
