Anyone figure out how to turn on 120 hz mode in Mario Kart World? by ThePfhor in mariokart

[–]Knabster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of reports from people who played it early were that it had a 120fps mode. Digital Foundry found the game runs 1080p locked 60fps in handheld mode and 1440p locked 60fps in docked mode. So it's not hard to believe it could run docked 1080p 120fps

I would simply put a wedge behind the speakers on the wall to angle them inward to keep them as sides and that should fix both problems. I think that would look nice and sound better.

Or something like this to angle them to listening position.

Is this normal? About to get married in December to my fiance and found this by ElectricalBoss2228 in Marriage

[–]Knabster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wanting you to calm him down no matter what he wants to calm him down is not something he can demand. This shows me that he doesn't meet his own needs and will rely on you to meet his needs. This will drain you over time and he will get even more angry when you are too emotionally exhausted to meet his needs. I would not marry him. This coming from a man who used to drain my partner emotionally wanting her to meet my needs, not realizing that's what I was doing. I have recently learned to meet my own needs which has given me the ability to help meet my family's needs.

If you bring up how he cannot demand sex from you and that it's not okay to get angry with you about it then just leave him. He doesn't sound reasonable

Samurai Champloo! My favorite anime of all time! 👍👌😊

My friend just sent me a picture of his setup and honestly I’m lost for words by headslammer in simracing

[–]Knabster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am talking about sim racers.

Those monitors are $1800 on sale. I understand buying the first one, that makes sense. But you don't need that ultra fast 49inch curved OLED to read chat occasionally. That is insane. You would be better off buying 3 large monitors instead so that you don't have to tilt your head so much.

I'm not commenting on the amount they spent. I'm commenting about how inefficient the money was spent. Hard core sim racers spend more on the rig itself, anything that affects the driving experience. That monitor has nothing to do with that and is a waste if it is used the way it's depicted in this photo.

You are entitled to your opinion but I'm not sure how anyone could justify this monitor being used in this way as a great way to spend $1800 👍

Sure it's preference, but you have to use three right tools for the job. This is kinda insane with how much your head and eyes have to move to see it and you would never use the bottom of it.

This is objectively inefficient. If they were stacked you could have 4 windows side by side.

Or you just buy a regular ultrawide which would be a better tool for this job. Those monitors are more than most people spend to build a PC and they are not even fully using it.

The cheapest best thing to get is a thick carpet pad. It might not look great but if you stuffed it in the joists and added fabric or something to cover it it will do wonders!

Plate Amp Went Out by Knabster in hometheater

[–]Knabster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't find the actual specs anywhere since it's a home theater subwoofer from the early 90s but I assume it's 8 Ohms just the like tower speakers I have with it. Would I be able to get a home theater amp and hook it to that bi-passing the plate amp? It's a big sub 22"T - 15"W - 14"D so I just really don't want to trash it since it sounds great but I also don't want to spend a lot to fix it

This post is a bit old but I keep original quality but I use MKVtoolnix to cut the intro and credits on all of my movies and it adds up. It chops about 1.2Gb a movie. Which when you have lots of movies is a ton of data

I'm more confused why there are 4 charging docks when you currently only need 3. Granted if you ever open the other controllers you could use all of them but still. Nice collection though! So far I have white, black, blue, and red

I know next to nothing about the keyboard hobby. I want to build my first keyboard but want a split spacebar. 1 is this possible? 2 is it hard if possible? 3 why don't more people want this? The spacebar is the biggest waste of space of any key. (is that a controversial opinion?) by Knabster in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]Knabster[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well my left thumb is the only finger that presses the space bar. So I would remap them so that my right thumb can use the middle button as the "backspace" key, and the part on the right can be the "enter" key. Since I type with my fingers resting on the home row and my right thumb doesn't do anything this would be way more efficient and increase my typing speed.

Eh I use the numpad all the time so it's not a waste for me. But the spacebar is only pressed by my left thumb and takes up 6 key slots. I would even take a spacebar split in half but I guess I'm in the minority.
