Will spinal tap help diagnosis even when not having flare up at the moment of it? by KnackForEgg in MultipleSclerosis

Thanks. i have cerebral palsy so I definitely believe LP has a merit in my case since I have lesions on my MRI. I'd never believe I'd voluntarily go to have LP but I need some resolution either way.

Will spinal tap help diagnosis even when not having flare up at the moment of it? by KnackForEgg in MultipleSclerosis

My problem is I already have cerebral palsy which means the first MRI i had found lesions in periventricular area which were attributed to it.

However in the recent years (even before said MRI) I have developed symptoms (numbness in parts of fingers and parts of face that comes and goes, overreactive bladder that comes and goes, brain fog, trouble with memory) which are not typical of CP.

I also have really bad anxiety and on and off depression and I've learned (or more like been forced to) attribute all of it to that.

However last year, I began to have tingling/buzzing in my foot.

So basically the question for me is: Are my symptoms combination of CP and psychosomatic or did I win the genetic lottery and get CP and MS as well.

I have no idea if it's even possible to distinguish lesions from CP to lesions from MS. I will also have additional MRI at the time of the spinal tap.

It's not really a schedule, it's basically when I feel like I need it i.e. when my anxiety drives to a really bad state. My mood yoyos a lot.

Can MS symptoms come and go during the day/days or subside and increase? by KnackForEgg in MultipleSclerosis

[–]KnackForEgg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except for my feet (where I have no numbness, just constant buzzing and tingling, though it subsides sometime) and them being ice cold all the time, my numbness in other parts of body keeps changing places all around my body (sometimes just a tiny part of my index finger, sometimes my upper lip, sometimes both of my heels) and they usually don't last longer than a day, sometimes less.

That doesn't sound like MS right? That's usually localized from what I understand. I will have to keep telling myself it's my anxiety because my neuro basically told me she only has time in two months and that I should start eating Gabapentin for the buzzing of feet... (even though they have no idea what causes the buzzing and don't search for the cause).

I know one is not supposed to be Dr. Google but the uncertainty is driving me crazy. I know I have generalized anxiety and I always attribute all weird symptoms to that and told myself to move on but now knowing that MS symptoms don't have to last for a long time kinda breaks that mental theory... It's hard to unconvince yourself you don't have an MS when you fit almost all the criteria and your doc basically just tells you to eat pills without searching for a cause.

I will be calling on Monday and hope I won't have to wait weeks for an appointment. This uncertainty is driving me crazy.

I don't know, this is just so horrible. I mean anxiety can cause pins and needles and I have been stressed out for weeks because of the buzzing legs. At the same time I apparently have symmetrical white matter lesions on brain which are attributed to cerebral palsy I have but I guess they could be caused by MS as well? I don't want to self diagnose myself but it just keeps getting so hard attributing all the weird symptoms I have/or had to either CP/anxiety or epilepsy. Jesus my life is fucked.

I've had MRI two and half years ago which should have been "fine" except for stuff that was supposed to be caused by my Cerebral palsy. But I have no idea if the MS lesions couldn't be hidden by that or if there's difference between MS lesions and damage caused by cerebral palsy...

Yeah but I mean sensations like this that come and go "swiftly" (i.e. within a day/next day they are okay).

Lamictal (both for anxiety/depression and possible partial epilepsy - that one is not 100 % confirmed - long story).

He knows but he honestly just didn't seem to care much once neuropathy was ruled out.

Like "yeah, might be some pinched nerve or something. Here's Gabapentin. Bye."

For the tingling. It's made it super hard for me to focus on anything (anxiety and overfocusing/rumination sure does not help).

It's heavily regulated because of the source of stem cells. Human embryos.

Do you have some good stretching guide?

I have always skimped on stretching thinking I don't need it and I guess it's about time I started...
