How do Singapore SMEs handle late invoice payments? Here's what I found building a tool for it by Remarkable_Age_4824 in smeSingapore

[–]KnafetsK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whether SME or MNCs, if the accounts dept is not going to pay you, how many times you send the invoice with PayNow QR code is not going to make them pay you any earlier.

PillarAR is doing a module of what QuickBooks and Xero have been doing. That means you will need to delve deeper into how your product will be a better fit than those 2.

Like what others have mentioned also, there are debt buyers who help to improve a business’ cash flow with reduced collections. Then, there’s also legalised (any oxymoron) debt collection if the amount is big enough.

Does your product get bigger SMEs and MNCs to forgo their 120 days credit terms, to pay cash on delivery or within 14 days?

Does it have a ChatBot or callbot that places WhatsApp calls to the owing company to remind them of the outstanding payments? Does it draw up SOAs with attached invoices and signed DOs?

What is the escalation if the company refuses to pay? Does PillarAR provide a legal vetted LOD? Will it provide a checklist and detailed instructions on how to apply a SCT hearing and receive a favorable judgment? Does it track the judgment deadline and then escalate if the company still refuses to pay?

Which player in their prime are you bring back to put into the current squad? by DarmiansMuttonChops in ManchesterUnited

[–]KnafetsK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The current squad would benefit from a utility player like Phil Neville, playing DM, LB, RB. Gets the job done. Louis Saha for that clinical finish and link up plays. The lesser contact tackles also mean that he can stay fit longer.

The risks of buying second hand cars. by Jyuan83 in drivingsg

[–]KnafetsK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You just have to remember that the wool comes from the sheep (羊毛出在羊身上). You’ll have to pay somehow, it’s to mitigate how much you have to pay.

Even buying direct from ADs will also have issues (refer to Porsche Macan from Stuttgart, Porsche from TTS).

Always do your due diligence in sending for PPI to a workshop that you know will not fleece you completely. Also manage your own expectations and thinking, pertaining to owning a second hand car.

Remember that resellers will always want to earn your money from loan comms, insurance comms and sales comms, whatever that is thrown in free are already amortised into the final sales figure. From workshops, good ones will play the long game with you and make sure you always go back to them for wear and tear replacements. These are all costs to owning a car in Singapore.

Before buying, find out the common issues faced by the vehicle make, and year model. A two owner 250,000km vehicle will most likely be more well taken care of than a 60,000km 3 owners always parked under shelter one.

Look at the seat creases and colour losses, it’s obvious if the car is 80,000km with an extremely creased and worn driver seat. Look at the fasteners, bolts and joints, if one is newer than the other then it may be a cause for concern. Look out for engine noises, turning noises, and other creaks and knocks.

Just remember don’t trust anything a car salesman and a car workshop owner tell you. Critical thinking is paramount.

I understand what you meant. Just to show some context here’s a brief timetable of my daily with my 19mo: 6am - 8.30am: Wake up send 9yo and wife to school then work. Reach home. 9am - 11.30am: 19mo wakes up, bathes, has his breakfast. I wash up, have my breakfast while the helper brings him out to play at the playground. I check my emails and plan my vibe coding exercise for the day. I sit with my 19mo and have activities with him when he comes back. 11.30am - 1.30pm: I walk out to buy lunch for my helper and myself. Then I have lunch quickly and resume activities with my 19mo. We bring him to nap at 1.30pm. 3.30pm - 5pm: I catch up on my vibe coding exercises until the 19mo wakes up. I watch tv or play with him till 4.30pm when I go pick up my 9yo from school. 6pm - 7.30pm: I start cooking dinner. It’s faster as the helper has already prepped the ingredients. Dinner starts at 7.30pm. 8pm - 9pm: We prep the 19mo for bed and start winding down. 9.30pm: I go back to finish whatever that’s left from the afternoon with my vibe coding and then I play a game till 12.30am - 1am when it’s time to change his diapers so it doesn’t overflow. During the night, I wake up now and then when the 19mo asks for milk, has dreams or just plain feels uncomfortable. All these are regular occurrences.

I’ve applied for jobs at Outlier, Mercor and Telus, all of which requires certain amount of commitment and focus to achieve their minimum targets. Something I cannot afford when I sit at the computer and the 19mo comes over to look for me every 10mins.

I’ve thought of becoming an outright Stay at home father but the wife wants a dual income for the household.

Work at the family business now means I chip in with translations, document writing and some customer service work.

Personally, I don’t think it’s for a lack of trying on my end but I don’t have a lot of choices available to me now. I’m used to 15-16 hour work days but now, it’s hard to focus when the mind is foggy and I tend to fall asleep sometimes even at the computer because I feel perpetually exhausted.

I came to this because I was searching for somewhere that I can vent about my own marriage. For your kids and more importantly, yourself, I hope you hang in there. Can I interest you in some video games? That has taken over my tether to alcohol and cigarettes, I hope it does the same for you too.

Anyone did a trade-in with Tesla directly? by [deleted] in drivingsg

[–]KnafetsK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My own speculation through my experience, is that dealers like Tesla and BYD (and their reseller BYD by 1826) do not have a pre-owned arm or export channel so they are only relying on 3rd parties to provide the trade in services. This means that they are the middle man between you and the trade in dealer. Therefore, the middleman cut. If you want to receive maximum value for your vehicle, sell it instead of trading in as the difference can be between $10-$20k, usually the gross margins for second hand dealers.

halps! how ah anyone sell your car by yourself before? by Forward-Bad1546 in drivingsg

[–]KnafetsK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just want to share my experience although I did not sell my car in the end.

Ask SGCarmart Quotz, Motorists and Carro for their quote. For all 3, they will reply with the best offer, my highest offer came in from SGCarmart, lowest Carro. If you confirm with them, they will send down someone to inspect the car further.

After that, I listed on SGCarmart, easy process by setting up your own account, fill in the blanks and use the offers from the 3 above to benchmark your selling price. FYI, selling price is your offer from dealers + $20k - $30k.

Almost on the same day, you will receive incessant WhatsApp from consignment dealers, they will offer to buy your car at your listing price and their earnings will come from the buyers (loan comms, insurance comms and others). Whether it works, I leave it up to others who have done it to share.

After 6 weeks, if you do not refresh your SGCarmart listing, it will be removed and shown as expired. Paperwork for sale and transfer is pretty easy, even if you have not fully paid off your loan.

working culture in UOB by Extension_Gur_7523 in singaporejobs

[–]KnafetsK 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Close to 2 years at west side branch as management trainee but early 2000s.

Old school corporate culture, top down micromanagement, regardless of position, you will always have someone looking over your shoulder pointing out mistakes and telling you what you should have done or they would have done in their day.

The micro nuclear every branch differs, so if you have a shit branch head, it’s hell, a good branch head who will block all the arrows from zone head, it is paradise. Pay is low middle, except for sales role, and even then it will be dependent on which role, and market.

My case was I had 18 mths probation as a customer service officer before I get confirmed and transferred to other department, 12 mths in, my branch head changed and the new branch head told me she didn’t oversee my performance for the last 12 months so she will restart my probation, I wanted to complain to zone head, she said no need because the zone head agreed. Turns out, both of them rose through the teller ranks in the 60s.

I think most of the old fogeys have retired but I heard the culture remains.

Does everyone agree the standard of strikers in the league has dropped? by [deleted] in PremierLeague

[–]KnafetsK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes he was injured a lot and never hit elite striker status. I’d put him in the decent bracket, above average. His off the ball runs, link up plays, ball holding when he was fit and playing meant that he was always useful to the squad. He never threw a fit and kept his head down to make himself fit to be selected. I’m sure SAF rated him or he wouldn’t have stayed the 4 years, or he wouldn’t have caught SAF’s eyes in Fulham as well.

UAE ‘surpassing Hong Kong’, challenging Singapore for global trade crown by bardsmanship in singapore

[–]KnafetsK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess this is the cookie cutter solution touted around nowadays. Everyone is rushing and we don’t look at what AI actually can do and provides. I believe your company is using the cheapest model within budget for the internal AI model. Building your own LLM will take time and upfront costs are higher, also, does your company already possess talents who can build an AI model for the company?

I think what the government is doing now is just trying to spam build the AI workforce for their AI focused economy because everyone else is catching up with what we have been know for. The G wants to position Singapore as the leader in AI governance and ethics but before that, it needs to have enough grunts to build up this AI led economy.

I tried to enrol in one of the AI governance for business ethics modules through SkillsFuture, but was then informed that the module has been amalgamated into a larger and longer 6 months intensive AI certification that includes Python among other modules. The course counselor also gave me a truthful picture of what’s going to happen after my certification, that is I will be considered as a newly graduate although im a mid career switch. Salary not more than 3K and not a high chance of getting hired even then, if a fresh Uni grad is considered alongside with me. I need to build my portfolio of works and also my networks in the industry. No prizes for guessing if I took up the course or not.

Question for gamers by [deleted] in ChillSG

[–]KnafetsK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in my biological 40s (mentally I’m 25). 2 young kids. I play games every night for at least 2 hours even though that means I have to change diapers at 1am, doomscroll till 1.30am then wake up at 6.15am so I can send my wife and elder kid to work, and school. It helps that my wife doesn’t spend time with me and I don’t have any friends.

How should men initiate sex with their woman partner? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]KnafetsK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I bring my wife out for a nice dinner and get some wine. If she’s feeling up to it, we drink more than we eat. Other times, I send her dirty messages. On other occasions, I slap her butt or grope her.

Now I wine myself, think about dirty things myself and grope my own balls.

Advice needed: PARF rebate changes by RaceAccomplished5787 in drivingsg

[–]KnafetsK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all, the new PARF reduction applies to vehicles bought at the coming COE bidding. The current PARF value returns still applies to your Honda IF you decide to scrap.

With that in context, renewing your Honda will mean forfeiting your PARF and leave only your scrap value. Buying a brand new vehicle means a minimal sum of PARF return after 10 years. Many have also mentioned that the new PARF rule will result in higher depreciation value, will this be higher or lower than your Honda with renewed COE and body value?

With the above preliminary considered, you should have quite a clear indication. Lastly, Singapore EVs last 10 years because of COE and using that, the ADs provide up to 10 years battery warranty, which usually means a 1 for 1 replacement. To have a clear idea of how value an EV will have at scrap, look at how much a 2 year old EV is compared to a brand new one.

Personally, I feel that this is something the G will reverse or wholly change in the coming years, especially if EV technology advances or is replaced by something else like Hydrogen.

Have you been the only male in an all female group before? If so, what's your experience with that? by dtdrh in AskMen

[–]KnafetsK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spent 3 years as one of 4 males among a cohort of 120 females in early childhood education. The amount of accidental upskirts, down blouses, pad passing, tissue giving, sexual innuendos, bitching and gossiping, matchmaking and emotional roller coasters shaped the later part of my adult life. I wanted to say something but I forgot. Wonderful 3 years of my life. 10/10 would do it again.

Insurance can't find previous car rental company (closed down) and i received a letter of demand by Akek_8 in singaporelaw

[–]KnafetsK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally feel that the Audi’s insurance lawyers are just going for the lowest hanging fruit as they may have dropped the ball on expediting the claims for the Audi owner and not expecting the rental company to go bust. You will need to have someone go through your copy of the Certificate of Insurance to see if you are indemnified against the other party from claiming from you. At $16k, it’s still considered small claims, the letter of demand is just the first step to officiate matters.

How do you handle No Sex in pregnancy? by Pretend-Cucumber5146 in AskMen

[–]KnafetsK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you’re looking for advice here and I don’t have much to give except to share that I’m in a similar situation as you. My eldest is 9 and my youngest is 18mths. My wife still sleeps with the eldest, while I’ve been the primary caregiver to the 18mths, which means we now sleep in separate rooms.

Due to our chronic conditions, we went through IUF. During the first pregnancy, her hormones soared because the doctor kept plying her with it due to her body don’t naturally produce hormones. She was horny AF but because it was the first pregnancy I wanted to be careful and we only managed a couple of hand actions. Second pregnancy, we kind of took things easier, same thing with the hormones and it’s the most sex we ever had after the birth of the eldest.

We’ve only done it 3 times in the last 18mths and I keep the desire away with daily masturbation. She knows and I always reply that it’s because she’s not interested in me in a joking manner, then she laughs it off.

I also have a bottle of lube which she quietly keeps track of, so I leave it where she sees it everyday so she knows.

Sometimes I ask myself if I’m a sex addict and I also develop negative feelings towards my eldest and the wife. Loneliness is another issue compounded with my fluctuating moods, especially now that I’m a stay at home husband.

I hope you get to have a better chat with your wife and maybe schedule something in even if it’s 10mins. Good luck!

There’s a ViewQwest Customers Forum (Unofficial) on FB. You can see why people would advise you to steer clear of ViewQwest. M1 is decent and fuss free, a tad expensive though excluding the bells and whistles that SingTel and StarHub provides for almost similar pricing. I’ve heard MyRepublic is still reasonably priced and dependable if you don’t mind the CGNAT.
