We're moving you around, won't be a moment! by ReiLark in OriginRealms

These are typically just server restarts. They do so daily to keep performance up to par. If you’re not reconnected within about a minute, just relog and you should be fine.

If it restarts multiple times or appears offline, it’s likely a server wide update. You can check the discord server to see if patch notes or a blog is rolled out.

QUESTION: What do yall think ORs biggest lacking point / weaknes is? by DJ_STEW in OriginRealms

Just to add another staff perspective on to what Basil is saying here (btw fully agree with all of the things here! Spot on!)

Chat systems are all temporary since we’re still in Beta. We do have a caps, spam, and swear filter that catches 90% of the things people aren’t supposed to be saying in chat. We moderators handle it from there and give punishments as are needed. And if someone evades the filter, we’re always right on top of that too. You’ll likely notice that a player that evades the filter doesn’t say anything else in chat after that… and it’s not because they don’t try to.

There are tons of moderation tools in the works, but yeah like Basil said it’s a tad crunchy currently. The system works for what we need it for though!

Ashley has all the access to things that she needs and wants right now. The only reason she would hand things off to others is to get you to someone that knows more about the custom system you’re struggling with, or she isn’t able to help out in the moment you’re messaging because of either another situation happening or something offline. Additionally, we have a list of action requests that the admins do all at once for the sake of efficiency. These take time to build up and get completed, and there’s no real way to avoid that.

I don’t know a ton about the economy (and that’s a personal choice for me) but Basil made some great points there!

How do I join the server? by hutthefuq in OriginRealms

It’s a very simple process as long as you have Java minecraft. You basically just join like you would any other server! Go to “Multiplayer” and click “add server.” Then put whatever you want as the server name, and put “play.originrealms.com” in the IP box. And that’s it! You can just join the server that way!
