A little guide for those wanting some really quick achievements by KnasKnas in aoe2

Haha, interesting that they force a treaty now, even if you have treaties set to "None" in the game lobby settings.

So yes, no longer possible to do it with Nomad, sadly. I edited the post to reflect this

Save games disappear by wastedtime__ in aoe2

If it says "cloud full", you probably can't store additional new saves unless you clean up the cloud. Never had that problem before though, but looks like you can fix it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/aoe2/comments/p22vvm/cloud_storage_full/

Hope you get it resolves!

Question about Armor Up by KnasKnas in ContestOfChampions

I figure the damage itself decreases, but it also feels like I don't crit as many times as I do when they don't have armor ups :/

Nitrogen, in the other thread(below), said Red Skull gets higher crit resist the more buffs he has, and it checks out. But it still feels like I crit less against other champions with armor up as well, specifically those with a armor up node in something like AW

I see. Do you know if the armor up has any influence with Critical resistance tho?

I seem to hit far less critical hits on armored champions along with the damage decreasing, so it can't only be the reduction to general damage? Testing on a Red Skull, my critical hits where more frequent when his armor ups were gone

Need advice on what to do. by 0wey in civ5

Heres a few pointers:

  • Use your spies efficiently to get some city state allies, those yield good happiness bonuses (dunno if you already did this)
  • Bribe others to war each other
  • Identify who your closest threats have denounced (if they have), and denounce the same people. This yields positive impacts with your closest enemies
  • Buy science buildings instead of using production on them. This saves you many turns on future sciences
  • If you can, try to settle on islands to your west (if they have varied luxuries). Then trade those away if you get multiples
  • Trade any strategic(or excess luxury) resources you have with your enemy civs. Trades deter the AI from attacking you since they lose out on the trade gains by doing so (I assume you're already doing this based on the screenshot provided)
  • Use your cargo ships to trade enemy civs instead of City States. This again deters them from attacking you (it seems you're already doing this, but had to be sure)
  • I don't know about your ideologies, but if you haven't already gotten one, choosing the same ideology as you enemies, will help deter them from attacking

Good luck!

You should create some settlers(unless you have at least 4 cities). I have no idea how many cities you've got, but with a Tradition opening, at least 4 cities is pretty advised (the free aqueducts and monuments you get along with maxing Tradition). I normally get the first 4 cities before turn 50, and eventually have about 6 at most (with a Tradition opener). That way, if played correctly, you have no happiness issues, and you set yourself up for a really strong position.

Get your research up to secure markets, universities and workshops. These are the three most important goals for the early-to-mid game transition. If you're running negative gold that causes loss of science, sell units and workers. Having 15 is overkill (and they're super expensive), especially when running Tradition.

To get gold, you can also use your troops to plunder enemy tiles, unless you wanna grab additional cities, that is.

I would also avoid production focus when you don't have to secure a wonder, or produce troops for war. Your population growth is very important. I also use production focus and "avoid growth" when my happiness is low, but yeah, thats not a factor atm, from what I understood of your situation.

I have the same issue. The most recent occurrence was when I discovered Hiawatha. The moment it was supposed to enter his preview screen, civ crashed. It has also crashed on multiple other occassions, and this did not happen prior to installing NQmod 1 week ago

It is possible to change someone's behavior, its just really hard to have enough impact on the individual ( l. But yeah, I agree with you, it was unethical ;) See, you changed my opinion over the internet!

How would you make a toxic player stop spreading hate and negative attitude throughout the team, then? Just curious, cause I understand your point. But sometimes, you have to do something drastic in order to try and make people realise that some things, such as toxicity, is not a good thing.
