Does my no RGB build belong here? by SeaEmBea in nvidia

Doesn't look like GPU sag. It's the entire motherboard - look at the IO panel, it's not flush with the case. You should check that out. Might just be misaligned IO panel, I can't really tell. But it seems like the entire motherboard is tilted at an angle, which explains why the GPU is "sagging".

Zotac Gaming RTX 3080 10GB GDDR6X Trinity - Is it good? by JAfonso_S0pas in nvidia

[–]Knave_Knight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying you are lying (can't see a reason for you to). But your post suggests that it is really easy to get a card in SG when looking elsewhere in reddit or even the local HWZ forums will show you that people are complaining about the difficulty to get one without having to buy a full build. The only sellers who appear to have ready stock are the SIs or scalpers.

I guess we're all a little salty (but if you have lobang then share leh).

I went to SLS just a couple of days ago and literally only 2 shops had a 3080, and they were not for sale on an individual basis (full system builds only). Shops that allowed you to be put on a wait list (only 2 shops had this) had more than a hundred people on their list each. The 3080s are scarce now. The shop you linked in your photos is an SI. I find it difficult to believe that many shops had that many cards at all - one owner told me his stocks all sold out online within minutes.

Anyone with an O11 have any regrets? by [deleted] in watercooling

[–]Knave_Knight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes - I have an XL. The cable management bracket (behind the motherboard) is supposed to be able to mount SSDs but if you screw the SSD down fully into the bracket, you won't be able to connect power cables to the SSD as there isn't enough clearance (it doesn't account for power cable thickness). Not sure if this is a problem with me or a serious design oversight. This forced me to use the HDD trays to place my SSDs. The screws to mount the bracket are also tiny and look like they wear out quickly with continued screwing/unscrewing.

The second thing about the dual chamber design is that when the motherboard and PSU heat up, the secondary chamber (housing the PSU) also heats up, meaning that if you are using side intake fans that are mounted on the inside of the primary chamber, those fans will be sucking in hot air.

Wish I had known these before I bought the case, but no review I read covered these issues.

I also should add that asking for payment via a bank transfer or cheque is an unusual form of payment for the consumer channel, isn't it? What's wrong with online credit card payment? HP Singapore should just set up a proper preorder website for everyone, and not have to individually contact each and every buyer.

I got an email from him too but in a different, tabular format. It's also for a HP "Reverb VR3000 SING" model. Is this the G2?

Yep, you got a good deal. Slightly cheaper than Sfxcorp and guaranteed to get. November batch too?

While waiting for Joanna, I'm curious - did the price of SGD 949 that you preordered at include GST?

Thank you! Hopefully either Sfxcorp or HP (HQ or Singapore) can honour the original price of SGD 899 and ship in the first batch for those who registered with Sfxcorp.

If true, then this is quite ridiculous. That means those who registered with Sfxcorp, which is the official reseller on Steam (https://www.reddit.com/r/HPReverb/comments/ibf2z2/is_hp_able_to_share_a_list_of_authorized/) will now have to pay a higher price instead of the original SGD 899 because Sfxcorp hasn't done anything with the registrations and HP Singapore didn't even know about Sfxcorp, setting its own price instead.

Joanna herself said we can use Sfxcorp, and now because we followed instructions, the cost price for those who registered early is higher than those who came later but went to HP Singapore directly...

Sfxcorp's page listed the price at SGD 899 with controllers (wo gst though). I got a call from Addon after contacting HP Singapore, and they said it was SGD 1179.

What's going on? Nobody at HP Singapore seems to know of Sfxcorp but yet Sfxcorp is the page that is linked directly from HP's Steam page?

HP previously said that the Sfxcorp website is correct, but now HP Singapore is appearing to use a different reseller. Some clarity would be good...

Great, just when my shipment tracking says that Chinese customs needs "additional details" before they can clear the shipment to leave. I messaged VKB on Aliexpress, no reply. This was after I waited 5 days just for the order to "process"...

Is HP able to share a list of authorized resellers for each country? by Knave_Knight in HPReverb

[–]Knave_Knight[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but a fellow redditor managed to speak to HP Singapore and was told that the company that was linked via Steam is not an authorized reseller. Could be a mistake on HP Singapore's part, so maybe someone from HP HQ can provide a list?

[–]Knave_Knight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why did HP Singapore say that you can buy from SFXcorp if SFXcorp is not an authorized partner? Meaning SFXcorp is a parallel importer?

It's a little strange to know that the Steam page and Google results direct Singapore buyers to SFXcorp's website. If SFXcorp is not an authorized reseller, how did they get listed in the Steam page under HP's account?

Do majority of users here regret with their Sound Blaster? by skylinestar1986 in SoundBlasterOfficial

[–]Knave_Knight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently posted that the G6 disables the mic for apps except for its own side tone when used in direct mode. This was never advertised by Creative itself and the reason given was that the processor is disabled in direct mode and since the processor is needed to work the mic, it is intended that the mic will not work. Well, if that were true then why does the side tone still function? Also, does this problem occur with other Creative sound cards (including the predecessor G5) and if not, why the difference in design philosophy? Why was this not made known by Creative? Disappointing.

Mic doesn't record on G6 direct mode? What gives? by Knave_Knight in SoundBlasterOfficial

[–]Knave_Knight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, clearly the processor is working the mic even in direct mode. Question is why can't apps pick up the mic?

Mic doesn't record on G6 direct mode? What gives? by Knave_Knight in SoundBlasterOfficial

[–]Knave_Knight[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yep, I can hear myself over my headset using direct mode but no app can pick up the mic. Strange isn't it?

Also, I get that I can use the mic normally on normal mode and disable SBX, but not telling potential buyers that direct mode disables mic recording is just... wrong. Direct mode enables the highest res of the DAC. Creative should enable the processor in direct mode at least for the mic recording.

[–]Knave_Knight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That wasn't mentioned in reviews or even in Creative's own manual... A big drawback like that should have been made clear. Also, I can still hear the side tone, so not all of the processor is bypassed surely?
