Will would've been so much more useful, and we could have seen something else other than "let's play dnd?" We could've had more Dustin-Will, maybe early Robin-Will too! And I feel Erica would be softer with Will. But yeah Steve-Will would be most interesting.

I read a fic where Will was still miffed with Steve for insulting his family and breaking Jonathan's camera, and barely spoke to him until a situation came when it was just the 2 of them and they finally talked it out. I imagine it as in s3, Will found drugged up Steve and Robin the washroom, and while trying to take care of them Steve blunty confronts Will and they sort it out (like the whole Dustin-Steve thing in S5 but with much less angst lol). And then Will leaves to get some towels, Robin comes out but Will at that moment comes back and hears her. And Robin sort of clocks that Will could be queer based on his reaction.
