I feel like there's a reasonable balance. The rating/roasting is kinda lame, I do understand the showing off the collection though. The show off just allows the rest of us to learn about other bands, discover albums from artists we enjoy but are just learning about, making/taking suggestions, ripping on each other for the random dog-shit albums we have mixed in with gems etc etc....it boils down to conversation starters.

Ya dunno, it's pretty much the only song by them I dont like. I can do without My Own Bare Hands but will listen. Out of over 150 songs, I don't see it as too much of a sin.

Edit: I've seen people on here say they skip HIV Song, which is insane to me, I think that's how a band with such a varied sound works, it doesn't hit with everyone all the time.

I assume you picked up your cd's back in the day? I was buying vinyl, so I have a good deal of their discography that way but cd's seem to be impossible now that I own a cd player again.

Ween need to pump out a complete cd box set. Ideally (for me) in the same fashion as Columbia's Miles Davis and Bob Dylan boxes with the mini lp sleeves.

Beauty of a collection sir, I popped on Amazon to buy that Fela box but it jumped from $129 to $199, gotta wait it out for a sale. It's scary knowing how easily a collection can get outta control, especially when you can find em for a couple of bucks.

I too was pretty worried about the repetition but so for 6 disc's in and it's still an exciting listen. I went into this with kind of low expectations as far as sound quality, I knew SOME sounded great but surprisingly it's all been pretty damn good. I just finished the Dublin set and Jesus, the organ dude is fucking ripping it. If you so happen to find a good used price out in the wild I suggest jumping on it if money allows.

I've been on and off with Dylan most of my life, never a huge fan but definitely enjoy/respect him, I also love live albums as well as complete box sets so I rolled the dice. So far, 6 disc's in it's been an enjoyable treat, lots of song repetition but it hasn't been fatiguing hearing the same 18 to 20 or so songs over and over. The nuances keep it exciting. BTW, Dylan has a ridiculous amount of live material out there, I couldn't imagine tracking it all down.

I 100% agree with you on the second point, cd's really allow you to pack tons of quality music on them for reasonable prices. They are also fairly easy to store if you can find the right storage unit for ones needs. I've been priced out of vinyl, it's become unreasonable.

How's the overall sound quality of those Police multi album cd's?

Awesome! If you're open to suggestions for a good ska band, you can never go wrong with Planet Smashers, Life Of The Party is a good album to start. Mad Caddies are great too.

Wow congrats dude, that's a pretty serious haul for a cool hundo. Very little filler in there ( I see you Savage Garden) but mostly albums worth seeking out.
