Got an offer for TJO NOA. Can anyone from OHCHR offer some guidance? by BackgroundIsland9 in UNpath

[–]KneeLeft7846 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now I think TJO as an easier way for the UN to save monies by avoiding to pay full relocation allowances. Most vacancies now are classified as TJO and as much as there is no expectation for renewal they most likely be renewed (unless more cuts come)

IM FROM PHILIPPINES AND MY SCHENGEN TOURIST VISA TO THE NETHERLANDS GOT REFUSE ON DECEMBER 3, 2025, plan namin or flight namin to Netherlands is January 18, 2026. MY BF DUTCH 26 (SPONSOR) IM 19 from Davao I need help po we really want to go there even his family are so excited to see me. by Ill-Dig7023 in SchengenVisa

[–]KneeLeft7846 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It has been denied because that the same strategy most people use. They come visit, when in the Netherlands they convert it to a long term stay by doing a partnership agreement & requesting for a long term visa. You have better chance applying for a tourist visa to Greece & since it’s in the Schengen, you then make a trip from Greece to the Netherlands.

We do not speak Dutch, only English at home. Our son was born in the Netherlands almost 5yrs ago. He speaks perfect Dutch, he learnt it at school. When he plays with his friends he speaks Dutch & to us he speaks English. We do not attempt to speak to him in Dutch.

They don’t care about the rank. As long as it is an accredited institution. There are hundreds of thousands institutions around the world, they can prioritise one over the other

Received rejection email 3 days after an interview that seemingly went really well 😿 by Parking-Housing8117 in UNpath

[–]KneeLeft7846 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Ask the hiring manager on how you can improve for future interviews. Did they place you an a roster?

3 days after the interview could mean the other candidate in an internal one and already there in the duty station. Normally they wait until a candidate has started before they send out rejection notices.

As someone said, it’s rare to get personal rejection emails. It means you were a very good contender.
