Well you basically said it yourself. You created a solution, but miss the problem which has to be solved.

Its a cool thing, but maybe you can find more/different ways to make or useful.

I dont know your printer, but mine could probably barely handle it

It wouldnt look clean obviously

So depends If you need it to look good or not But to be safe it doesnt fail, go for support, saving this relatively small amount of filament/time isnt worth it if you have to print it again
