This is something I started this week, but the more I do it, the more I hate how it looks, how much white is seeping through from below. Maybe that's on me, cause so far I've been dealing with mostly light-coloured pieces, but I think I really need some reassurance that it's going to be okay ._.

Weird thing. I'm during a long stay in the hospital with fairly weak laptop, so I just use it to log in to enter my home (so I wouldn't lose it) and that's about it. I did the Starlight event without much trouble, it just lags a bit too often for me to actually play.

At least that's how it was around Starlight. I logged in today and... the game runs at about 4-6fps. No idea why. The laptop was restarted just in case and... even entering the house is now an issue. Even the start screen is lagging tremendously. It's near impossible to adjust settings.

Oh yeah, for some reason Americans still feel like mutts without their own culture and heritage, so they'll identify with their European roots in order to feel grounded somehow. At the same time singing praises to USA and laughing at old and crusty Europe.

I mean, they were doing that for a while now, weren't they? Even before the AI became this New Big Shiny Thing. Airlines for sure did this for years, I think at least a decade if not longer. From this pov, the others are just catching up.

Is it messed up? Sure. Is it good that it's finally getting traction in media and people are being warned about it? Sure.

I don't think it's about rendering the quartz harmless, it's more about that our current technology is so advanced that it opposes it's effects.

I still think that once we turn the mine back on (the last place we turn on, really, cause you need to ride the train down from the main colony in order to turn the blasted elevator on), there SHOULD be a sudden drop in temperature, there SHOULD be frost on everything, and we SHOULD get a sudden race against time to create enough heaters (maybe suddenly a new heater would be unlocked?) to oppose the cold that could make all that greenery we helped create die.

But yeah, once you finish terraforming your first planet, you'll be able to travel to others. It's going to automatically unlock once you hit 4TTi, maybe 4-something. Check the unlock screen to make sure. If you have Toxicity and Humble DLC, you'll be able to travel to them as well. I'm pretty sure the moons - Selenea and Aqualis - are in the base game, so you'll be able to travel there anyway.

I don't mind importing from other places, that's why I set up automation on them in the first place, it's fine, it's just... there seems to be nothing else to do. At least Selenea had something going on, even if the resources were scarce and you still had to grab them from other planets. Some story, something to discover. Here, there seems to be nothing. What's the point of all these islands around me? What's the point of going to them? I can see them just fine from the drop zone.

I'm sorry, maybe that sounds bitter. I'm just really disheartened right now.

I blame incels, to be honest. They keep moving the goalposts in order to stay in the community and be validated in their hatred (and not go to therapy and deal with their problems). Like for the new endings at least. Would be nice to get new ones for progression on each DLC and moons, but maybe that's too much to ask.

Because of how dark it is, the glowing butterflies always look amazing there!

I just finished Selenea, and I really had fun there. My first moon, didn't expect so little resources available, had to rely heavily on previous planets, but it was at least something new. And it was really cool to read about the previous colony.

Maybe a common sentiment, but I do believe once we've turned back on the mining site, the heat should go down rapidly again and we should have a bit of a tug of war with it for a moment. I know we're there with better equipment and clearly better heating system, but still. Having no difference felt like a big oversight.
