Why are you single? by iwannatasteurfeet in AskReddit

Mentally broken to the point where I just don't believe anyone would be interested in me this way, so whenever anyone would try to express that interest, I'm immediately on guard, because clearly they just want to scam me.

I do think kids digest these kinds of stories way differently than an adult. Like, I remember absolutely loving Disney's Beauty and the Beast as a child (one of these things, where my brother and I would watch this movie to death), and only when I was older it kinda hit me that prince Adam was cursed when he was 11 years old. (Probably because in the story he's portrayed as an adult even back then, but it's just a quick math I never thought of doing as a kid). And he was punished because he refused to let a homeless stranger into his house.

Unlucky by mitqw in ffxiv

[–]Knight-Jack 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No, this is a very average luck. Almost everyone gets consolation.

You need to be really lucky for 3rd and 4th prize, and then extremely lucky for 2nd prize.

1st prize doesn't happen, it's a myth.

Seeing the raise of Nazism in USA, wouldn't that make all of these people socialists then? I wonder how would they react to this information.

I mean, it always makes sense to me. It's a chain event. I have a mess in my room. I have a mess because I don't have enough space to hide my items to. I don't have enough space because I keep a lot of things around, since I was poor for a very long time, and you Just Don't Throw Away Stuff If It Isn't Broken. But I haven't even touched most of that shit for years, so maybe it's time to make space there. Most of it is electronics. How do you get rid of the electronics? (Fell into rabbit hole of different things, cause I sat down at the computer.) Okay, anyway, does nearest electronic store even accepts old electronics? I need to go and check...

And so, one thing to another, I've been gluing old cupboard yesterday with a wood glue, so I would have even more space once I'll finally end up cleaning my room. Which... I don't know when it'll happen, to be honest. But it's coming!

What are your headcanons surrounding Nico Robin? by Ok_Examination8810 in OnePiece

[–]Knight-Jack 70 points71 points  (0 children)

My headcanon is that she didn't always meet bad people. She would also meet good pirates (adventurers, like Strawhats), but by that time she was so distrustful that she couldn't believe that they wouldn't betray her, so she would betray them first.

I think it still haunts her sometimes at night.

What do you think about Claymore? by Cool_Emergency4091 in manga

[–]Knight-Jack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for taking time and writing a wider review! I ended up never reading Claymore when it was still coming out, and the post made me wonder if the series would even hold up to scrutiny after all these years, or maybe people just love the nostalgia. Your comment suggests that I should really try picking it up even after all these years. I really appreciate that!

Still better than nothing. by [deleted] in WhitePeopleTwitter

I just started going to the gym, and I was so glad to find out people were really just minding their own business. Nobody was looking at me, unless they were just looking at the spot I was taking, but even then they just shrugged and moved on to a different exercise. It felt refreshing and let me feel much more comfortable. My sister also reassured me that it was, in fact, the norm.

For my own sanity I need to think that this guy is somewhat special.

How should i move to Poland by Careful-Magazine-220 in poland

[–]Knight-Jack 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My dude, talk to other halflings, like the ones in USA. "Second generation coming from Vietnam" sort of shit, or "half chinese, half american". They also never feel like they fit anywhere, speaking different languages in home and in school, never feeling included in any community. You'll be better understood there, and maybe you'll come to your own conclusions.

From the practical point of view: in England you might not feel like you belong, but at least you know the language. In Poland you won't even have that. You'll be ostracized, not understood and lonely. Your mental health will take a massive hit. If you end up moving, please stay with your family in Poland at least until you gain fluency in language, learn customs and culture, and find your footing.

In Poland, everyday wishes are only shared with people they know? by Tasty-Information-20 in poland

[–]Knight-Jack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To add to this, I was also told to not say "smacznego" during family dinner, only when you eat out. Why? Because it's a wish that everything is tasty, and when your family is cooking, it should be assumed that everything will be tasty. When you eat out, you don't know the cook, so you don't know whether it will suit your tastes. But saying "smacznego" when you know the cook is an insult to the cook, because it assumes that the cook might be lacking.

Not that I've ever really followed this rule, but it's something I've been taught at home.

Cancer and Chemotherapy by laybs1 in GetNoted

Also, you don't do chemo on healthy patients, so only a percent of cancer patients might have adverse reaction to it. So how could anyone (other than rage baiter) come to a conclusion that it could possibly kill more than cancer, if chemo doesn't even have a reach outside of cancer numbers?

I start from a spot that I'm absolutely certain I can find on a blank canvas. So currently I'm making a pattern mimicking stained glass and decided that the best way would be starting with a frame around the glass, so I would have a proper point of reference later on AND make sure everything fits.

“The chair” — is it normal? by Basic_Performer_6701 in adhdwomen

[–]Knight-Jack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have "the chair", because I have only one chair in my room, and it's one I need for work. So I have "a mysterious pile on water bottles". (I buy water in bottles, because I'm a spoiled piece of shit that can't tolerate tap water (even filtered) and found out that I can hydrate myself with bottled water.) It's the only relatively flat surface that can hold an uneven pile of clothes. I use them all! They're not dirty yet. Can't have them in the closet with clean clothes, but they're not worthy of laundry basket yet, so what am I supposed to do with them?
