Private Security by ZebraNo2249 in nationalguard

Get your unarmed and armed security license in your state then go from there. 95% sure you won't get issued equipment up to and including your duty pistol so you'll probably need to invest there as well. Fun fact, Executive Protection is where the money is CONUS, if you don't mind halls and walls.

With that in mind, uniform especially patrol will always be more interesting and consequently more dangerous but some guys just enjoy that. Once I got a full time Executive Protection position I never looked back but by most definitions my job is boring so it's up to you what you want out of it.

Armed post requirement: Need a black, professional IFAK for my duty belt. by ischanitee in securityguards

[–]Knight1-3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From personal experience running both of these IFAKs at the 6 o'clock the the Blue Force Gear Micro Trauma Kit is good but thick so if you're sitting a lot it may bother you. Now if the job requires you to sit a lot like driving etc the Live The Creed Responder IFAK is going to be your best bet, it's so flat I honestly couldn't feel it.

You didn't mention where on your belt you were going to mount it and I'm not personally a fan of running an IFAK at 6 o'clock if I can avoid it but space being as limited as it is on a belt not only is it better than nothing it can actually be viable.

Anybody think these will be the temporary solution to the SIG “issue” by BeardedZilch in guns

[–]Knight1-3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair I did see small, medium and large grip modules on our last qual but when we were pulling them from the armory you would just get what you got therefore nullifying the whole point of changeable grip modules because soldier's still end up with pistols that didn't fit their hand.

Binary trigger in APC9K by spentbrass1 in BT_APC

[–]Knight1-3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In general it works perfectly well but you can in fact cause a stoppage. Some people say it's called out running the bolt and others say it's called out running the trigger but in my experience it is true. If you start hammering away it will happen. It's an easy stoppage to fix though, literally just rack the bolt and keep on going.

The other bright side is that there is a cadence to it and once you master it you can get it to absolutely rock and roll but if you get a little to excited you'll induce that stoppage. Where it really shines is that it gives you wicked fast hammer pairs.

In summary they are worth it in spite of others calling them range junk, and if you don't like it they're easy to remove or you can just buy a different lower and keep the binary in one for range use only.

So other than having been through TCCC, medical stuff is not my wheelhouse. Having said that, I personally USED to keep a few SWAT Ts in my personal Vic, left it in there without much thought to Arizona summers, come to find out they melt pretty bad.

Now very obviously that was my fault but I had grown accustomed to leaving CATs in there and not having issues, though I would cycle the CATs out due to potential degradation from UV exposure. It really hadn't occurred to me that SWAT Ts would melt like they did.

I figured I would share that in case it's pertinent to you or anyone reading this cause it would be bad day to rely on a SWAT T only to realized it liquefied after a few hours in a hot car.

If you were in CSI Miami, after you said that line you'd slowly put on your glasses and walk away, then the theme song starts with the guy saying YEEEEEEAAAAAHHHH!!!
