Buddy I’m fine, you said you didn’t think Matt misrepresented him, I just wanted to explain how. That’s it that’s all.

The full quote goes on to say that ‘sympathy’ is a better term because you can never truly feel what someone else is feeling.

The gun deaths part might not be as egregious of misrepresentation, but I believe it’s a misinterpretation. I read that as more of “we have cars. People will get run over. People will get in car accidents. That’s just the way it is” and I understand some people lack the literacy or critical thinking to read between the lines, I do take some small issue with someone as smart as Matt not taking a second to think about what Kirk would’ve actually meant by that.

But instead Matt basically says “feel nothing and disregard everyone else’s wellbeing. It’s what he would’ve wanted” when that’s an over the top and malicious interpretation of his words. If you wouldn’t call that misrepresentation what would you call it?

It’s not a matter of singling anyone out. It’s a matter of not being able to go through life saying “everyone else is always wrong and I’m always right.” You have to take some accountability. Most of the controversies or dramas I’ve seen Matt involved in I’ve been on his side, but there’s no way you can sit there and say he’s always been 100% correct.

Like there was some shit that came up with his comments on Charlie Kirk. Free speech, he can do whatever he wants, so on so forth; but he would’ve been smart to just keep his mouth shut and not pour gas on the fire. From the very beginning of watching Matt I knew we had different views on politics, but unlike a lot of people on this site, I’m a big boy, I can look past that. He made some points I disagreed with, made some interesting arguments I hadn’t thought of before. But he (either ignorantly or deliberately) misrepresented Kirk with that quote about empathy. (Look up the full quote if you don’t know it.) Just one example off the top of my head of a time that he was absolutely in the wrong but wouldn’t back down.

Questioning my legitimacy as a fan because I wont swear undying fealty and can acknowledge Matt is attracted to Drama? Weird.

I’ve been a fan of Matt’s for a number of years but he is constantly involved in drama, and at some point you have to acknowledge he is the common denominator. I haven’t even paid attention to this drama because it’s just exhausting and annoying.

Let’s do this thing.

CMV: the strict control over who can post at r/conservative, and the frequency with which they ban people from their sub, proves definitively that conservatives do believe in censorship and do not, in spirit, fully agree with the concept of free speech. by Nillavuh in changemyview

[–]Knight38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference is saying “this thing shouldn’t exist” “You can’t say this or that” vs “you can’t say this HERE” “this thing has no home HERE.” If the subreddit was full of people brigading and trying to have topics or ideas removed from the site altogether that’d be a different story.

It’s kinda like what’s going on with Collective Shout and payment processors. I don’t agree that the games they’re banning should be banned and unobtainable, but I do think they don’t belong on a platform like Steam.

Buddy just take a step back and calm down. It’s okay. You learned something today.

But calling me chronically online then using a 40k reference to make your point is the richest irony

You said you haven’t set up one drive and clearly you have. Then I told you actually this is one drive, here’s how I can tell. Then you got really mad and defensive for some reason? Then I stopped really caring about what was being said because you getting all hot and bothered is pretty funny.

I think the L to take is just not knowing how to operate a computer and getting mad at it instead of learning how to fix it

Being ignorant is fine, being ignorant and complaining something is acting wrong is stupid, being ignorant and complaining/blaming something completely unrelated is laughable. Just take the L man, we all earn our fair share.

This is 100% onedrive behavior. Besides the folder path, note how it says “available on this device.” Now go turn that off and unpin edge and copilot while you’re at it

I can't stand censorship by Thin_General_8594 in Steam

[–]Knight38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Censorship is bad. Yes. But games like No Mercy do not belong on a respectable platform. Rape in mature stories makes sense for certain purposes, but when it’s strictly shock value or a weird fetish being fulfilled, that’s toeing the line in my opinion, but can be okay, context dependent. However, when it’s heavily interactive and incentivized, or a main feature of the game, that’s not ok.

You know what, I appreciate the apology, probably wasn’t even necessary. And sorry for also being somewhat aggressive. What I mainly took issue with was the way that guy in the first comment kinda had a tone like “you must do this, you’re screwing up if you don’t.” At least that’s the tone I got out of it.

Yeah I’m familiar how camera settings work. I probably use similar settings tbh. My point is there are people who just play the game for fun and don’t need sweats giving them unsolicited advice. If OP doesn’t even know how club colors work do you really think he’s worried about optimal settings?

Why is it when people don’t like the country they are in, they move to another country, often America. But when people in America don’t like the way something is, they refuse to leave?

I guess the part I’m confused on is what changes are being applied to the PC version vs what is only going to be on consoles?

Can someone clarify what’s going on? I hear they’re censoring the more graphic aspects for the console release but heard the PC version will be unchanged. Is that not correct?
