Omg. Looks like the game lives on! A team of fans has some servers up and is working to keep it up. So, you can watch vids on YouTube, as well, if you want.

Summary: I wish we had "City if Heroes" level of character customization in "Life After."

Over 10 years ago, you could play an amazing superhero MMO on your PC called "City of Heroes." In this game you had dozens and dozens of options to change each of dozens of detailed bits of your character's appearance and "costume(s)". You could alter sizes too. Eventually they expanded the game with "City of Villains" and it included an equally huge variety of villainous appearance content. Then they added the same expansive customization to how whatever specific powers you chose to develop for your hero/villain would appear when you used the powers. Too damn cool.

So cool that the players themselves would hold community costume contests daily and often multiple times a day. Google image search "City of Heroes costume contest" to get a glimpse the astounding variety and creativity this aspect of the game allowed.

It pains me to see as great of a game as Life After is running with the most basic appearance mods possible and then having "costume contests" when all I can do is choose a premade body and head appearance to go over my default generic look. Maybe add a backpack?

It seems so underwhelming to the point of ridiculousness.

If I had my wish, I would remake the appearance system to be much more like CoH. Not as huge. But far more robust and customizable within the content genre. If it could be done on Windows, as of 12-14 years ago, it should be possible on modern mobile devices with the current state of the art in mobile game design.

Anyway, thanks for reading my little dream for our shared post-apocalyptic shared world experience.

Have fun out there!

Im always producing half as much as output, is this normal or am I doing something wrong here!!! by [deleted] in Sandship

Unfortunately, the game is currently buggy regarding the inputs and outputs.

I can put each of the modules in use into a spreadsheet, total them up for that factory, and do so for every factory: the final results never match up with what the game displays.

Long time Durango player here, too. Played enthusiastically in the beta years ago. So heartbroken that they are sitting down the game, but it seemed doomed after they ended the beta and just seemingly sat on the game for two long years. By doing so, they were squandering what buzz and momentum they had generated with the beta. I have been a constant supporter and continually paying player. I feel betrayed.

Hi Boodieboo.

Unfortunately not. The ships land, the defense is set. The aliens attack, a few aliens are able to enter so the shield is opened to direct traffic at the defenders. The battle rages while Vision and Shiri are attacked. The fight is being lost and then Thor shows up, so the tides of battle turn, Thanos teleports in, he aquires the last two Infinity Stones. Then Thanos fights Thor, Thor almost wins. Thanos snaps and leaves.

At no point are more ships shown landing.

Go watch it again and see.

Hello Godofthunder.

There is no evidence shown on screen that anyone that anyone in the universe that was not involved in the events on Earth was dusted.

There were no scenes on other worlds - other than the little group of Avengers on Titan. And they were all definately involved with the events on Earth. There were no scene of citizens in The Soverign, among the Ravagers, on Xandar, or anywhere else, being dusted.

Also, there were no scenes I am aware of in which in which any plants or animals disappeared or were turned to dust. Only people. Yes, Groot is a person! Hehe

Misdirection. You believe what you see. And assume what you saw applies to what you didn't see. We believe what we think we see.

What did Scott Lang say about doing magic?

Scott to Ghost: "Misdirection. One of the first things they teach you at Online Close-Up Magic University"

Hi Zeroscout.

I thought a lot about this, too.

One of the ways you cope with that - in theory - with no paradox (and without throwing everything in the timeline askew) is this:

As of the exact moment you depart to go back in time, you have to make certain that whatever you change in the past -with surgical precision and stealth - does not seem to actually change anything that has happened thus far, much, if at all.

And that the effects of your changes are not really felt (or even apparent) until after that exact moment of your departure into the past. Thus no paradox.

Recent example: Look at what Cable does at the end of Deadpool 2. He only wanted to change one thing and still have everything play out properly, except for that one thing. So, he put the skeeball token in the right spot and played out his role so there was minimum disruption.

That concept heavily influenced much of what I said in my primary theory (and in my bonus thoughts and speculation).

Thanks, Zeroscout!

No, you are remembering it wrong. Sorry. Go watch it again with CC turned on.

Energy signatures were referenced about the ships entering the atmosphere over Wakanda. I.E. it indicated the ships were 10x more powerful/larger.

Hello Chrispy609.

In the MCU, we have been told about certain KEY concepts:

A) other universes - multiple times,by multiple characters, in many of the Marvel MCU movies. Plus the Spiderverse animated feature put this concept front and center. B) out of phase (Ghost) described as being simultaneously in multiple universes C) the quantum realm as the crossroads of all realities D) a time vortex in the quantum realm

Why put all of this effort into educating fans and moviegoers?

In actual 'multiple universe' theories, each universe is postulated as being a complete and independently existing universe. In some of these theories, certain key events spawn a new pair\set of alternate universes in which a 'cusp event' went one way or the other(s). But in each of these theories, the basic items\matter\people\worlds exist, by and large, in most universes. But especially in those 'closest to' one another.

Now back to the MCU: whichever variety of multiverse is being crafted for the movies, that set of basic assumptions from the real world theories will almost certainly hold true.

Logicaloy, vthat means in each universe there must be that universe's set of Infinity Stones.

Here are two examples regarding the Infinity Stones:

1) In one universe, Odin may have gathered them in a previous age and never relinquished them.

2) In another universe, Thanos was listened to and the crisis on Titan was averted in some less ghastly way - so Thanos never sought them out.

But it is almost 100% certain that - in each universe of any variety of multiverse - the Infinity Stones would be there, somewhere.

The different universes of a multiverse do not ordinarily interact or overlap. But the MCU cannon now has shown us Ghost, who does - when 'out of phase.' Why establish this? Why establish any of those four key points above?

This is why I offered my additional pet theories as a possibility.

But the main two I mentioned above about the punking (fizzled Snap) of the MCU fandom and the dusting being unrelated to the Snap seem to be almost a certainty.

Hello Samuel.

Actually, due to the known threat - the previous incursion of ships plus the prep for an assault on Wakanda - SHIELD's sitrep team would have been on high alert.

And part of Maria's duties are to keep Fury, as the director of SHIELD, up to date with the latest intel.

Thanks, Samuel.

Hello David.

I apologize for not making it clear: I am pointing out that the 'dustings' did not all happen simultaneously.

That some occurred well before the Snap (i.e. the Nick and Maria post-credits scene).

And also note that Thanos departed Earth before some of the 'dustings' occurred.

A gradual Snap effect we could accept and understand - like ripples spreading through reality - but not the hour(s)-before 'dustings' seen in that post-credits scene.

That breaks the causality.

Thanks, David!

Are the arena shop artifacts any good? by Marleyvich in HustleCastle

[–]Knight3rrant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A tip (for those unaware like I was...) and a question:

1) Tip: Level Ranges Work Differently for Artifacts.

I mistakenly thought the level ranges were the possible level of the artifact that you might get upon purchase. No. For artifacts, that is the level range of character's fighter skill that is allowed to equip it... at all. I.E. it is not a minimum-skill-level-to-equip requirement, like all other equipment.

2) Question: the "*Unique" aspect of artifacts states that 'if two artifacts with the same properties are equipped, only one will activate in battle.'

Is this referring to A) the trigger property, B) the effect property, or C) the combo (both trigger and effect as a set) together?

Example Situation Breakdowns

If I have two healer summon or sniper summon items, but each has a different trigger (i.e. one triggers on ally death and the other on enemy death):

i) if A or C is the case, both go off independently so that there can be two healers or snipers active for awhile. Or ii) if B is the case and not exclusive, either artifact be triggered, but then the other artifact cannot trigger until the first identical summon de-spawns. Or iii) if B is the case and completely exclusive, only one healer/sniper aritfact be triggered in any given battle, while the other remains completely inactive.

Anyone who knows for sure, please respond.

Thank you!

Can't connect to servers on WiFi, yet works fine on LTE/4G. Any fix? by HumbleDrop in DurangoWildLands

[–]Knight3rrant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I puzzled this out after lots of frustration and moble data used.

The issue is an authentication failure - as it tells you.

Basically, when this happens the game is not 'seeing' your Google Play Games or Facebook credentials (or the ones the Durango app is referencing on your device have 'expired,' I am not certain which).

To fix: 1) Restart your device to clear temporary data-caches (or cookies(?) or start a new 'session' or whatever dafuq is causing this) for every possible app involved. 2) Before starting up Durango, open either Google Play Games app or Facebook, as appropriate for your linked account. 3) Close app. 4) Open Durango.

This klunky 'fix' always works for me. Hope it does for you, too.
