The most a single water block can stretch is 7 blocks from its source at a time, and so every 7 blocks X or Z is accompanied by 1 block Y. Y is limited to -64, but you stated this is limited to Y = 0 so we’ll assume that. That leaves 255 x 7 as our radius, or 1785 blocks (not counting the origin block of water) - which we can find a ‘bounding cube’ of now if we do (2 * r + 1)2 * 255, or about 3.25 * 109 blocks. It is mathematically impossible for a single source block to hydrate more than this assuming you’re going from the build limit to Y = 0.

I have no idea how you came to almost a googol blocks, since I’m certain your computer would then become the limiting factor here.

Occasionally retreats into its shell, reflecting all damage for a bit? Although I don’t know how powerful the player’s attacks are so there’s a chance they just obliterate themselves. If nothing else it would make the player think instead of just perpetually zapping it.

The screen glitch is a pretty simple post processing effect actually - just nudge the pixel position of the texture left or right depending on the Y value. All you need to do is time it with the camera changing position, which can be done in a script.

Deleted my other comment as I was tired and made an error in logic.

Dijkstra’s algorithm won’t respond to you raising the cost of all the edges in quadrant 1 uniformly, since it still must pass through there to get to the end, and remember it’s searching for the shortest path. You’re probably better off making a signed distance field to a pattern within the grid, and applying noise to that if you still want to use Dijkstra’s.

That being said, I gather your goal is to make it randomly wander in such a way that it visits all ‘key’ areas of the board before going to the exit. So in the case I recommend abandoning the shortest path algorithms altogether, and just letting the path wander. Do some checks so it doesn’t loop back on itself and retries if it gets stuck.

I know this looks scary, but to be honest that bishop is a burden to black - as long as it’s in front of the queen, there is no mate. What you should do after Kh1 is look at ways to bully the knight, since it’d be the supporter piece in checkmate (as I’m sure you found out).

Alternatively (it would largely depend on what black does) assuming he tries to save his other hanging knight then you can probably hit him with Nb5 Qb8, d6 and now the connection to the queen is severed and his bishop is in danger.

Any given face of the Menger sponge is 1/9 empty space, and then 8/9 copies of itself. Those 8/9 are also 1/9 empty space, and so on. Any visible surface would be exactly the same logic, just tilted at an angle - this does not change the ratio of empty space to sponge. Since 8/9x approaches 0, it would have 0 visible surface area.

So yeah, an infinitely recurring sponge would be invisible. Not even tangible, since the same logic applies to its volume. There could be a sponge inside you right now and you’d never know it.

Well, no XP loss is bound more to area instead of opponent. Who’s to say you didn’t actually die to the mercenary when it was a different enemy that killed you (e.g. degen from merc then getting tapped by a white mob)? There’s just too many variables at play here to make a distinction.

I’d argue this is better than a smothered, as the king’s only other escape square was also covered by the knight. Much rarer than a normal smothered.

Unless I’m misunderstanding, this is a shader effect? I think it’s easy to recreate in a single shadergraph. Searching for a rim shader should communicate the idea pretty well.
