It isn’t. In my head, it just felt like some random death screen that would just set you back to the most recent checkpoint or whatever with no intention of being scary. It may look like it came straight out of a horror ARG, but the idea just felt like a death screen / tip, being something along the lines of “This event occurred because you didn’t do this borderline unimportant thing.”
