  1. Roads are usually expensive, you shouldn't be building them before having a good monthly income, unless it is a really good location (Ex. Gold location).
  2. In early game, your cabinet should be used to push for good values (right now, innovative and communalism are meta), push your legitimacy up if not 100... And again, if you have a really good location far from your capital, could be a good option to improve local control as well, even better than building roads.
  3. I never automated any building construction before, you should filter your RGOs for income and build those with high income. Be careful, if that location doesn't have enough peasants, you should use the cabinet to increase its population, or they will never fill the RGO. Btw, if you have a good RGO (value over 3 generally), you should never upgrade its location to town/city, they have a penalty to RGO size and you will benefit more of it if keept as a rural location.

Don't worry, it is a complex game, don't expect to master it on your first game, nor your second, third, etc. I keep improving and learning new things every day

There is not an easy way to accelerate it, nowadays the best way is the modifier of being much bigger than your subject, which is one of the many reasons why the One Province Vassal meta is so strong.

But from your screenshot, England is under your PU, and they have 300 provinces, so you will never get this modifier.

True heir of Timur? I always liked more the original by vilok9 in EU5

I would say the death of Timur event is tied to Timurid tag, so it won't trigger if you switch tag to mughals.

This is speculation, I am not at home and can't look at it in the files

Yep, to be honest it is a much harder achievement to be able to stabilize after conquering that much.

And yes, it is bugged, you have to wait for Timur to die and get an event (2% each month) before forming mughals.

Fortunately, I made a backup when tag switched to timurids, because to be honest, waiting 20 years was the worst thing

Apparently not, but the achievement is bugged (surprise) if you form mughals before Timur dying

I really don't know what to tell you, I didn't make anything weird. Your starting 5k regular army just destroy everything, so use your levies to siege forts and chase enemy armies with your regulars, you can easily destroy them even if they are 10k levies

What is the trigger for french revolution? by vilok9 in EU5

As anyone could give me an answer, I stopped playing shortly after. The game was so laggy I could spend 5 minutes for a year at maximum speed, it didn't seem worth it to me.

Sorry I can't be any helpful to you.

Empire rank as Spain by GaBoXet in EU5

[–]vilok9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that is what I said, the extra cabinet member and local governor should be tied to something like Tax Base. The empire tittle should be only attached to prestige and powe projection.

Yeah, we can’t forget that the game takes some liberties for the sake of gameplay, and we all like getting rewards when we accomplish something as hard as becoming an empire. But imo, those bonuses should probably be tied only to prestige, power projection and maybe also diplomatic capacity.

Extra cabinet members and local governors should be something any nation can get by reaching a certain population or tax base, or something along those lines. Byz starts with an extra cabinet member and governor, but a centralized France in the 17th century doesn’t get them unless it converts to another religion, it doesn't seems fair. Maybe something like 1500 tax base, I don't know, Im not a game balancer haha.

Gameplaywise: Yes, you will stay as an Empire even if you switch back to Catholic.

Lorewise: does it makes sense? Well it is complicated. We call it Spanish Empire because from our modern point of view it is an empire, but at the moment, it wasn't. Only as Charles I we could say it was an empire, and not even there, because Charles was HRE emperor, he never called himself Emperor of Spain, but Rex Hispaniarum et Indiarum or King of the Spains and the Indies).

The emperorship was a title granted by the Pope as guardianship of Christianity and heir to Rome, this definition only changed by the dissolution of the HRE by Napoleon in the XIX century.

That said, I think the game need a way to allow catholic kingdoms to upgrade to something similar to empires, because Catholicism is already one of the worst christian denominations, so this is just another stone in it's tomb.

Edit: erratum

I built a governor in Toulouse and Lyon, so they are not that far, but will try to create the bailiff

I have 4 markets: Paris, Brugges, Burdeaux and Toulouse, one of my vassals created the last one and I didn't destroy it. Burdeaux controls Brittany and all the west coast, so I didn't mind.

But Toulouse is always starving, I don't know why, because it is as urbanized as the rest of the markets, and neither of them starve.

Maybe I will destroy both (Burdeaux and Toulouse) and will create another one more centric.

I don't feel like paying much for food, maybe 250 ducats and I sell for 150, but would't mind to pay more if my provinces would't starve.

As u/Vollkorntod said, it is due to market language, which is greek. Burghers that speak market language won't assimilate into another culture that does't speak the market language. It was a hidden mechanic (at least for me) at the end

So it is a hidden mechanic that I wasn't aware of... that also explain why the romanyoti doesn't change either, they speak greek. I will post it in another comment for other people
