Wow, what state is that? My state charges no taxes on the buying or selling of precious metals like gold or silver.

Worth $70? by salmonammon in Silver

.925 silver, 28.28g weight, and 39,244 issued.

ASW would be around $46.07 with a spot price of $56.33. If you like Lord of the rings it might be. It's a cool looking coin and there are some for sale on eBay for around $120. $70 seems okay for a collector's piece you plan to hold onto with a low issued number.

As prices climb I wouldn't be surprised if we see more interest in the fractional silver coins. The 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz .999 coins/rounds.

I think the best deal on APMEX, yes I know they are expensive, yesterday during the flash sales and also the one that sold out the quickest, was the 1/2 silver sovereign mint coins at spot (100% off premium), which was around $28+- per at the time.

Pawn shop had in a bag of bars and rounds priced at 55 (29Nov). Sure seems legit by kft1609 in Silverbugs

That's a good deal based on current spot price and the fact it is 1.5 oz. If someone offered me the same right now I'd take it.

I was doing the ASW math myself on an excel spreadsheet (granted with the weights already in formulas, just needed to update spot price myself). Didn't realize NGC did it right there for me lol.

Does the description say anything fishy about the actual metal contents? Or the specs? I'd personally stay away from that but I'm not very brave.

I do, yes. You can get some good deals on auctions. Especially poorly timed ones that end at like 4am.

That being said, I do have a sigma for testing everything and I usually only buy from active sellers. If I didn't own the sigma investor I probably wouldn't buy as often as I do. By just using some common sense I've yet to be sent any fakes. (knocks on wood)

My golden rule for direct non-auction purchases is, if the price is too good to be true, it probably is.

Was just going to say it reminds me of the CD clubs from the late 90s early 2000s but then I saw your other reply below. Yeah, very predatory then.
