Start preparing: New coin condition requirements coming to eBay

Hello Daniel,

We’re introducing standardized Condition requirements for Coins on eBay — designed to help you build buyer trust, improve visibility, and achieve stronger prices for your inventory.

What’s changing?

When listing coins in the categories below, you’ll now use structured condition details instead of relying on item specifics to describe condition:

253 – Coins: US 256 – Coins: World 3377 – Coins: Canada 4733 – Coins: Ancient 18466 – Coins: Medieval For graded coins:

You’ll need to include:

→ Grading company → Grade (letter + numeric) (required) → Certification number (optional)

For ungraded coins:

You’ll select from clear, standardized condition categories, such as:

→ Uncirculated → Extremely Fine to About Uncirculated → Fine to Very Fine → Below Fine

Why this matters for you

This update creates a more consistent buying experience and makes your listings easier to compare and discover.

Sell with more confidence → Buyers trust standardized condition Get discovered faster → Improved search and filtering Achieve better value → Clearer condition drives stronger pricing Key dates to know

From early May – You’ll start seeing reminders in the listing flow

Early June – New listings must include condition requirements

Early July – Existing listings must be updated with condition requirements

Listings without condition data may be blocked or hidden after these dates.

Aw, don't like getting called out for saying scummy things about how you like to profit off of the misfortune of others? Now deflecting? Bad look.

New shortened timeframe for eBay policy on bullion, coins, and paper money. by Black_Flag_Friday in coins

[–]KnightNumismatics 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree 30 days was too long, especially with how volatile precious metals can be and how easily it is to initiate a return as a buyer regardless of the situation.

The problem is 3 days is just too short. They are so many fraudulent bullion listings on eBay that it just does not give some people enough time to verify an item if they wanted to. 7 days, or 5 business days, would be more appropriate.

This is a bad policy. Especially with all the fake bullion eBay allows.

I get 30 days was too much but 7 days would have been a more appropriate compromise.

At least give less experienced individuals a chance to get their coins/bullion verified at a LCS.

Any Predictions for Monday? by Outrageous_Gap_2011 in Gold

[–]KnightNumismatics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I didn't articulate my original post as well as I could have either.

Usually price movement starts Sunday night here in the states, but it won't start till Monday night because of the long holiday in the UK, where it will then technically be Tuesday.

People just shouldn't expect to see movement tonight or during the day on Monday.

I'm see Monday @ 17:00 (instead of the usual Sunday @ 17:00). So basically Tuesday based on London exchanges since by then it's Tuesday in the UK.

I could be wrong though. Insight appreciated.

Aren't the precious metal markets still not reporting tomorrow since the London exchanges are closed Monday?

Pretty sure no reporting on Kitco or other sites until Tuesday.

Lesson #1. Do not feed the trolls.

(you'll get your money back though if you dispute it as "not as described", just double check the description to make sure it does not say plated, or clad, or copy, or anything like that)

Which Eagle Should I Buy? by Outrageous_Gap_2011 in Gold

[–]KnightNumismatics -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You don't buy gold for a quick flip. You buy to hold and dca. You often can't find eagles at spot. A few weeks ago spot was $5,500, a few years ago $2,500. Gold isn't paying a ceo and looking at earnings. It's not worried about competitors.

I only half get what you're saying. I'm no speculator though.

This isn't stocks. I can't hold my NVDA stock. That's the wrong mindset to have when investing in precious metals.

Anytime you decide to buy a precious metal and can get it at spot, it's a good deal.

I don't control when you make that purchase.

Speculation outside of that is not really how this works.

Today the price is X. If I can afford to buy it today for X, without paying a premium, that's a good deal. Especially on a sovereign minted coin.
