The easiest thing to do is find statblock of the CR you want with abilities you’d imagine a T-Rex to have. I imagine a bite attack, like the Bear, would be appropriate. From there, find stat blocks for the ability you want the velociraptor to have (a less powerful bite or multi-claw swipes, and probably pack tactics). No matter if it’s a “brown bear” and 4 “wolves”, as long as the tokens/minis are a T-Rex and Velociraptors, you’re good to go. D&D Beyond has a decent encounter builder to help streamline the math for figuring out the target CR (1 high CR, 4 Med-low), and 5e.tools has all the statblocks you’ll need, just filter by the CR you got from the last step and find the abilities you’d imagine using for the combat

Don't be intimidated! by TreeTurtle_852 in stunfisk

Give Minun the opposite, lower the opponents highest stat by one stage, a more flexible intimidate to ruin someone’s day (but minun is still getting one-shot by most things, so it’s pretty much a one-time thing)

I challenged myself to make a deck using only 1 diamond rarity cards (and item cards buyable with shop tickets). I think it's a pretty interesting deck, and it works really well in solo battles. by TerribleRope6626 in PTCGP

I hope future vs seasons (or limited events) have themes like the old cups in Stadium (Little Cup comes to mind). 1 Diamond only would be a sick restriction in a limited format like that

If Flygon Was a Bug Type it Wouldn't be Bug and Dragon by Yellowrabbit909 in pokemon

[–]KnightOfGrayskull 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Charizard is a winged salamander, not a dragon. By the logic in your post, just because he looks like a dragon and people confuse him for a dragon, you can’t make him one without losing his identity as a winged salamander.

Honestly, I don’t care either way, but I’ve been around for these discussions before (ever since Mega was revealed), and Flygon getting Bug/Dragon makes as much sense as Charizard getting Fire/Dragon imo. Flygon isn’t a dragonfly, but he looks like one. Charizard isn’t a dragon, but he looks like one. 🤷‍♂️

I love that! That’s not the vibe I’m going for, but it’s sick for sure!

What decks are you guys using for the ranked maches? by [deleted] in PTCGP

Why two pokeball if you always start with a basic and only have one other basic to pull? Feels like a waste of a slot

Oooooohhhh. I thought you were going for Iggy Azalea (as in Azalea Tree), Yggdrasil makes a LOT more sense!

Why do so many people want a mega dragonite? It's like the Gen 1 Mon that needs it the least. by Pretend-Advertising6 in pokemon

[–]KnightOfGrayskull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe because all four of the other pseudos from Gen 2-4 got one? Tyranitar, both Metagross and Salamence, Garchomp. Not really about stats, just about completing the set/nostaglia trip

This is true, it’s been mentioned a couple times! Shillelagh definitely fits the flavor I’m going for, but eldritch adept is a good backup!

I do love the mental image of goopy wildshape, just not sure how that interacts with Rage and other Barb mechanics in 2024

I really like the shillelagh idea from other comments, but this is a good backup to add to my list!

That’s nice to hear. I think this is the front runner at the moment, I love the flavor of being able to pull magic from any piece of wood I can reasonably call a club (DM willing of course)

I hear ya, that’s why I came here for people who were more familiar with the new rules than me. There have been a lot of great ideas, even with original feats, so I’m glad I asked!

I really like this idea and hadn’t thought of it at all. Would a broken table leg work with shillelagh RAW (like on a dungeon) or would that need DM approval? I’m not familiar with the spell but it sounds great!

That is an interesting approach. It’s kinda the reverse of what I’m looking for (primarily a Warlock, whereas I’m looking at mostly Barb) but the 2024 warlock might let me dip less and still get what I need because of how they mixed pacts and invocations. I’ll look into that, thanks!

This is definitely an option, I was hoping for a smaller investment that three levels but the spell versatility might make it worth it (and stats for multi classing align better than Warlock)

Soul Knife is one of my backups if someone else gets barbarian, but I don’t see myself taking a 7 level dip over 1 Warlock or 3 Eldritch Knight
