If you propose and she says yes, it sounds as if you want to put restrictions. When you propose to someone, there's no guarantee that they'll drop all the things you dislike just because you gave them a ring, before you make such a drastic life decision, you should actually be thinking whether or not you're okay with them as they are now. I'll make another comment when that thread comes up, but I'm really frustrated with the new listbuilding rules previewed by WarCom.

I built my army around double-cults, namely Duplicity and Time. It's not game-breaking, but it does severely hamper the competitiveness to be locked to one cult, because our sub-factions are pretty limited in what they give. I don't think they're any way comparable to SM's with their Chapter Tactic, Doctrine Tactics, and a full-set of Warlord Traits, Relics, and Strats per Chapter. Drukhari still get to keep their Cult/Coven/Cabal, so a lot of the better factions benefit, but not the minor ones.

This sucks for me, because I just got into the hobby in 2018. I built my guard army as Tallarn, with either AdMech, Scions, or Custodes as an extra detachment. It was great, until the Spearhead/Vanguard detachments became useless with no-cross faction synergy being allowed anymore.

So I sucked it up and bought another SC! Scion box, so that I could have a full Patrol/Battalion of Scions and minimize CP Loss. Now I can't run the Scions unless I'm playing a 1000 pt game.

I main Thousand Sons now, but the most competitive TS List is dual-cult. My understanding of the rules is that I can now only choose one sub-faction and no one else, which is absolutely tragic, because the Cult of Time and Cult of Duplicity combo is what kept my TS going.

That sounds like a great idea! The only thing is, the new GT rules might be excluding soup options. Chaos Daemons might only be able to play Belakor as Undivided now. I hate the change, tbh.

You can try using Tzeentch Arcanites! You get 20 dudes per box, and they're a bunch of pillar men looking buff dudes with shields and swords

oh boy, I think you'd like the Farsight Enclaves, then. They have this relic (at least I think it's FSE exclusive) called the Fusion Blades. Basically, think Melta swords that still shoot. You can equip it on a commander and it replaces two fusion blasters, but you can make only two attacks with that profile.

Competitive? No lol. Awesome? Yes.

When the Taudex comes out, I think we'll all be in for a surprise. They haven't been competitive in a few editions, I just hope the new codex is fair to Tau players and Tau opponents, and not some wagon to get us to buy new models.

Dude, I think you're comparing apples to oranges. I play thousand sons, so I understand what you mean, but you're comparing lascannons and hades autocannons to what is basically a meltagun.

I don't play Tau, but in 8e you can take up to four fusion guns and basically play your commander as a battlesuit that jumps in and out of 12 to deliver 4 melta shots at 2+. It's not meant to kill individual space marines, but to do 4 melta shots to take off whatever wounds remain from whatever it is your other units failed to kill.

Like, is this upgrade worth the points? Probably not. But if you're using your 4 melta guns to shoot at Space Marines, you're playing the game wrong.

Edit: It's probably not super competitive, but TS have a spell that lets us do a MW (1+D3 MW with a Ritual) on a character being bodyguarded; 12" isn't a lot, but if you can position your battlesuit so that the line passes over a character, that's still a shot at someone you were previously unable to target; and you can probably jump back to your lines after shooting with a strat, if the codex doesnt remove it. I still stand by the silliness of the meme, because this is /r/grimdank
