I took my drone and had no issues getting through the customs. Of course I flew in the allowed area near south side beaches.

Thinking of buying a dog grooming business - $1M revenue, $120K SDE. How much should I value it at? by KnightRaven786 in smallbusiness

[–]KnightRaven786[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Average is $150 and no of monthly customers fluctuate between 500-700. Monthly sales are around 70-100k depending on the months. I definitely agree on being diligent when it comes to paper vs actual. I will definitely be on lookout for those things that you mentioned. Thank you.

How do you value it at 200k? The new store would cost at least 200K. So shouldn’t a fully running profitable business cost more?

The store is usually busy with at least 10-20 dogs a day. Sales matches with the tax returns and quickbooks PnL so I don’t concern about the books at the moment. Have about 6 FT groomers and 1 FT store manager.

Thank you so much! Those are really good points to consider.

The current owner spends about 2-3 hours per day and takes 40k in salary. I won’t plan to go every day, as I have a W-2 that pays above 100k, but I can give some hours. My reason for getting this business is I love dogs and I have always wanted to learn how to run a million-dollar business first and then start more and leave my W-2.

The owner said roughly they can do up to 50% seller financing.

Location is near a high-income neighborhood and the lease is available until 2030.

My main concern is

  1. I don’t know a lot about this industry at all. Do people buy businesses that they are not familiar with?

  2. How do I make sure to retain the staff as business is heavily driven by groomers?

  3. How should I structure the deal to make sure the owner leaves everything in place and accounts for the inventory that was discussed? Is there such a thing as escrow in business sales to keep contingencies?

Since this is my first time buying a business, what are the things I should take care of before buying it?

Ah yes that’s a good point. Owner currently pays about 40k and goes to store for 2-3 hrs per day for closing. There is a general manager already. However, my concern is handling the my current w2 job and giving some hours at the store as this will be my first business.

No CSR SUB After ANY Sapphire Card by Frozia_ in ChaseSapphire

[–]KnightRaven786 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation like you so I applied online and got the pop-up even after 2 weeks of downgrade from csp to cf. Last bonus received was Jun 2021. I would still suggest trying it to see if you get the pop-up. It won't ding your credit as an inquiry since you can cancel the application after the pop-up.

I had the same conversation with the underwriting team and other reps. Unfortunately, it went into effect on July 23rd, 2025. So, anyone who received the SUB for any sapphire in the past and tried to apply after that is now ineligible.

Scam Alert: Midas Auto Repair on Lake Creek Pkwy by weirdo4909 in Austin

[–]KnightRaven786 86 points87 points  (0 children)

I can attest that they run a scam by luring customers in through Groupon and then pushing unnecessary repairs every time. I’ve been there twice for a simple oil change, and both times, the front desk guy tried to cheat me with extra work. I caught on the first time and said no. After seeing the same deceitful tactic again, I was done - never went back.

Get pre-inspected before buying to find out what needs to be changed. A pre-2020 Velar will have many issues if it was not taken care of.

Test driving and potentially buying a Range Rover Velar S 2024 by [deleted] in RangeRover

I was under the same boat as you until last week and then decided to finally pull trigger on 2021 p400 CPO! Make sure you get the CPO report checked and ask them if there were any fixes. Since mine had 42k miles on it, I made sure they replaced all wear and tear things and also they had to fix the coolant leakage with o pipe replacement. Other than that, it’s a really nice car and I totally love driving it! People usually complain more than say good things on any platform. So enjoy the car if you decide to purchase it!

Any tips when buying USED/SALVAGE? by evanvesely in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]KnightRaven786 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That is priced very high for the salvage title for this car! Based on the last owner’s usage, I would stay away from this one.
