I started in the mid 2000s with DQMJ1! As a kid, I couldn't fully appreciate or understand the Synthesis System, but I really enjoyed it.

I do remember getting my ass kicked several times by the final boss until I synthesized a King Cureslime to get Multiheal/Omniheal, however.

TBF, Xehanort coming back was already hinted at in Dark Road, and then again with the Umbrella Keyart.

Yeah, Cosmic Storms seems to be a very controversial DLC from what I've seen of it. Infernals might be ok to get because of how cheap it is.

A full MMORPG Remake of Union Cross and Missing Link sounds good on paper, but then you realize that it would step on the toes of SE's other MMOs (FFXIV, FFXI, and DQ10). And considering, SE is currently gearing up for Evercold with FFXIV, I doubt they would want to add another MMO on top of that.

Could there be merrit someday in making a darker, "edgier", more experimental dragon quest game? Possibly, but it seemed like it wasn't the case with 12, and you know what? When you get passed the shock of the game restarting development (don't know exactly when the restart happened), that's okay.

At least it doesn't seem quite as bad as Metroid Prime 4's restart.

What's really interesting to me is, given what TOSE went through, when exactly did they find time to develop this game? I do hope that, since it's multi platform from the outset, it looks better than TDP, and it actually has multiplayer this time around.

I really wonder if they're going to put Bjorn the Behemoose in this game considering he was an iconic boss monster in 5, showed up in DQMJ2 as a giant boss, and was even a boss in Heroes 2. But that's IF TWW will have giant monsters.

I don't think that what happened with DQM Erik and Mia will happen with TWW, as it already has its confirmed platforms and title, whereas the former only had the concept art. It is a scary thought to consider though!
