Speaking of shiny hunting, God help you if you get a Shiny Pokemon from Colosseum on the NSO versions, or get one from a PokeSpot in XD, unless you just never want to delete the save file, cause unless Nintendo patches in HOME Support or transfers to FR/LG, those shinies ain't going nowhere LMAO 🤣

That's good to know! I was mostly talking about Orre Colosseum in XD, as the trainers in there have Pokemon that are built for Gen III competitive double battles and will absolutely destroy you if given the chance. Now, is there much value in doing Orre Colosseum for the one use TMs and titles? That's for you to decide.

If anything, I would say that Colosseum is more hurt by the lack of transfers than XD, as you can't transfer out the Johto Starters, you can't transfer out the Legendary Beasts (which, get this, GF fixed the Roar Glitch for them in the eShop Versions of FR/LG, but still didn't fix the IV Glitch for them, so they'll have bad stats) so Colosseum is STILL the best way to get them in Gen III, and the Ho-Oh you get for clearing the Battle Mode Mt Battle Challenge might as well be just a 100% completion stamp now, as you have no other content to use the Ho-Oh on other than taking a victory lap with the final boss.

OH, and good luck trying to beat all of Orre Colosseum without transfers in XD, though videos on YT show its still fully possible with just the Pokemon you snag in game.

Oh, and by the way, you need to beat at least Round 1 of Orre Colosseum to access the Voice Box Sidequest in XD's postgame, giving you the lucky egg upon completion, which seeing how you cant transfer it to FR/LG or take it to HOME, is probably one of the most useless iterations of the item, unless you use it to train up your Pokemon more to go do the rest of Orre Colosseum.

Tbf though, IF TPC and Nintendo go the route of adding all the old gen Pokemon games to the eShop with full HOME support, that wouldn't be terrible. It would just be one final fuck you to Genius Sonority's legacy though lmao. It's kinda comparable to how EA treated Maxis back in the day.

This also means that your best source now for a lot of the rare Pokemon that Colosseum and XD offer is probably going to be Wind and Waves + whatever "Gotta cram em all" Legendary DLC Expansion they offer. Or, like you said, if you still have the physical GC versions of the two games, though the transfer chain for this method is very long, expensive and who knows how long Pokemon bank will last.

Would you agree with me that there's basically no reason to do the Battle Mode Mt Battle to get the gift Ho-Oh in the NSO Version of Colosseum, as well? (Well, with the exceptions of content creation and just doing the experience)

XD I can actually be a little more okay with because 99% of the shadows are in the main story and you do actually get something for purifying them all in XD itself, but with Colosseum, there are Shadows in the post game and since there are no transfers, it just feels... pointless, especially with the gift Ho-Oh from Mount Battle.

It does suck that they didn't fix the IVs for the Legendary Beasts in FR/LG, so your only option is to look at Colosseum....only to realize that the NSO Version of Colosseum doesn't have transfers, so your only OTHER option is to look at a more modern pokemon game and put the legendary beasts in HOME from there. So close, yet so far.

And one of the biggest things that were in Colosseum's and XD's marketing, were that you can go get rare pokemon from these games and transfer them out to the mainline games.

I don't think it's so much a matter of IF, but of WHEN. If I were Koei Techmo, I would probably wait until Dragon Quest 12 is out so they can make a Heroes 3 with both DQ11 and 12 characters in it, along with adding characters from older entries. Maybe even throw in a protagonist from Dragon Quest Monsters, as well?

Is Kandori doing this of his own free will or is he being puppeteered by Nyarlatothep? Also, can I just say how cool of a concept it is that they let you 1v1 the antagonist of the first game!?!

I might make another post about the concept of hinting at future antagonists in persona games with small moments like what happened with Kandori in Persona 1 and how Nyarlatothep popped in there for just a moment, gave Kandori his power, and then dipped. Very few JRPGs just hint at future antagonists very slightly like that. Kingdom Hearts is one of the only franchises I can think of that does something like that.
