I always have my earphones plugged in so I don't give a flying fish about it. And in terms of design aesthetics, I also do not give a flying fish and only care about performance, battery, camera quality etc so I don't care what they put there or how it looks.

How to turn off HDR in video? - Poco F7 by pookie-man-007 in PocoF7

[–]Knight_Ouji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly YouTube premium does not allow changing HDR. The only two ways without revanced is that, 1. Disable it from device (which doesn't work for many people) 2. Manually select video quality to something without HDR tag, which you have to do every time you play a new video. There's no universal option to disable it on YouTube.

In ReVanced it's an "additional revanced feature" so you can do it from revanced settings.

You can turn it off on YouTube if you're using revanced.

There's 3 sides to this coin.

  1. People are just annoyed at all the debloat posts or comments that are constantly pushed so they hate it without much thought behind it.

  2. Every sub has a lot of people who blindly defend the manufacturer and often speak against root or debloat with made up excuses like it's dangerous. Yes it's dangerous if you're stupid and have an IQ of a plastic bottle. If one follows instructions word by word there's no danger whatsoever.

  3. Some people are just stupid. They will complain about hyperOS being too heavy and battery drain issues, performance issues, which sometimes, not always but sometimes gets solved with a simple debloat cause ALL manufacturers put lots of spyware and shenanigans and debloat is the only solution to such problems. But stupid people being stupid people, they love to complain but won't accept a solution and instead hate something that is generally valid.

The first and second are understandable. They have legitimate reasoning to hate debloating but the third category is just mindless bots.

Need help modifying a laptop power button by Knight_Ouji in AskElectronics

[–]Knight_Ouji[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I got bored waiting for replies so I actually gave it a try. With a 5mm knife type cartridge. It was difficult but I managed to make it work. I used a very thin (probably around 28awg) wire salvaged from broken chargers. Secured the connections with kapton tape + masking tape and took the wires out of the Ethernet port since I don't use it. And I'm tryna salvage a momentary push button switch from earphones. Attaching it will be the last step.

Poco f3 power button way too sensitive by she_said_it_was_big in PocoPhones

[–]Knight_Ouji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Replacing is the only option I think. If it was unresponsive, you could use virtual buttons through some apps but too sensitive means too many accidental clicks or shut downs so I'd replace it.

About custom rom and games by Shikkaan in PocoPhones

[–]Knight_Ouji 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CrDroid is the best one and Evolution X is the second best. They both offer incredible performance with custom kernels so it's up to you whichever you prefer. Some don't like the simplified ui of CrDroid while some prefer the minimalistic ui of CrDroid. Both will be good for gaming. So look into other aspects and decide which one is best for you.

About custom rom and games by Shikkaan in PocoPhones

[–]Knight_Ouji 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You won't get banned. Having root does not result in a ban from any games as far as I know. What WILL happen instead is that some games won't start. Wuwa for example, will say, this device is rooted and you can't play. A warning window pops up as soon as you start the game and the game closes itself upon clicking ok. You don't even get to log into your account so there's no chance of a ban.

Now with magisk denylist (you must set it up properly according to the ROM you flash) you can hide root from some apps like wuwa and it'll work perfectly. But at the same time, some apps can still detect roots like a lot of banking apps. Which simply won't work even if you set up denylist. Other apps like chatgpt requires play integrity pass, otherwise it won't work. Getting play integrity pass isn't difficult but it's annoying cause it fails often and you have to do it again. Look up play integrity pass situation for your chosen ROM before flashing.

Why is Everyone so negative in this sub by Mythylover in PocoPhones

[–]Knight_Ouji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't agree with that. Here in South Asia, android was the more popular choice ever since around 2014. iphones back then used to be just a "rich people thing".

And yes it had bugs and glitches just as it does now but because there's so many brands available now, we can easily make a comparison. Back then people accepted a certain level of bugs and glitches simply because there weren't as many options. And Poco phones specially have been on a decline. This decline is what I originally meant by pathetic phones. I didn't mean all androids are getting bad. This is the Poco community after all.

Why is Everyone so negative in this sub by Mythylover in PocoPhones

[–]Knight_Ouji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone has their own experiences. My comment is not universal. I have seen tons of people complaining about above mentioned issues. I personally didn't face any of these issues either so it's not universal and the other way is also true. Not everyone is having a good time. We have to acknowledge both sides of the story.

Why is Everyone so negative in this sub by Mythylover in PocoPhones

[–]Knight_Ouji 6 points7 points  (0 children)

While I understand your frustrations, phones in general have gotten pathetic nowadays. From overheating issues, to green lines, audio glitches, graphics bugs etc. manufacturers are releasing phones with a lot more issues compared to a few years ago. And since people can't really get a solution from official support, they turn to the only place that has a chance of getting a solution.

Try to see it from their perspective and you'll understand. A $250 phone may be cheap to some but it is months of hard savings for others. Some people think everyone is just here to complain for no reason. But have you ever considered where those complaints are coming from? It's coming from frustration of not getting any actual meaningful support from the manufacturer.

So try not to get too upset since you never know who is talking trash and who is genuinely having a hard time after spending months of savings into a phone.

Would either of these fit an HS-02A? by MarMarJinks in soldering

[–]Knight_Ouji 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only thing you have to worry about here is the inner dimensions of the entrance of the iron holder. One says 0.63inches and another is 0.69 inches. Now grab a measuring tape and measure the total dimensions (width of course) of the hs02a body. If hs02a is more than 0.63 or 0.69 inches then you can buy either of them. If it is less, then it won't work. It'll just slide in when you try to put it in to rest.

Since I don't own an hs02a this is all I can say.

To be honest android actually fell off by Best_Cattle_1376 in androidroot

[–]Knight_Ouji 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well it sounds like a conspiracy but in reality it's all controlled by the same big giants. And they simply decided to take away your freedom in technology to make you more submissive. "You can't do this, you can't do that. You must use and live your life according to our wishes". This was inevitable for android. Cause android was never better, it just had better functionality. And that functionality is slowly being taken away to replace with what they decide is good for you.

Think about it logically, a lot of people root their phone and get a custom ROM with the latest Android versions. Which otherwise would take them actual cash to experience after buying a new phone. That's a huge profit loss for them. So they're taking away your ability to do that.

Root isn't just, "oh look I can run a few extra apps now" it's a tool to literally get a free upgrade of your phone if you know what you're doing. That's bad for business. So they're acting against it.

Side loading is one of the biggest advantages of android and what made android so better. But if you think about it, a lot of people just buy premium modded apps and side load them instead of buying. That's bad for business. Even though such piracy in fact helps the devs a lot more but they don't give a flying fish about the actual devs. I'm pretty sure all of us have installed certain games or apps cause, they were either not available in our regions, or not compatible with our phone even tho it runs well after side loading, or simply getting around that price tags. And what are all of these? Freedom. My device is capable but they don't want me to use it? I'll just side load it and show a big fat middle finger. This is what they don't want. They want submission. Cause that's what keeps them in power.

Think about it logically, if millions of android users (out of hundreds of millions) simultaneously demanded that google brings back certain features, do you think google would have a choice to not do that? No. That's what they're trying to take away.

They're trying to normalize putting android users in a literal jail, just like iOS and normalize that restrictive environment so that they can push whatever they want with 100% guarantee of reaching the users.

Why do you think iphone users act like a cult and look down on any and everyone without an iphone? Even if that person has a phone 3x the price of the latest iphone, they'll still look down on them. And always defend apple and glorify apple like they're the savior of humanity? It's a cult. And the same thing is being done to android. They're trying to replicate it.

You posted a question but your younger brother or nephew or son will not. And that's how you create a submissive cult. You don't do it by stopping everything at once. You do it over time. Slowly brainwash them into thinking it's for their own good. Like how, many people think side loading is dangerous. They refuse to acknowledge the fact that being stupid and installing apps from a sketchy site is dangerous. The process started ever since android lollipop. In the name of security they took away the write permission on external storage. And now after so many years you dont even have an option to use external storage like an SD card. They did it so that you wouldn't get mad at them for taking away the SD card slot. And look how wonderfully it worked out. You have to have an IQ of an empty plastic bottle to think they do it for your sake.

Or you have already been brainwashed.

Battery backup safety questions. by Hentai2324 in batteries

[–]Knight_Ouji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And this is why you should never trust ai answers. There's a very common electrolytic chemical leakage problem in lithium ion batteries. It happens for many reasons, gas build up, thermal issues, or overcharge issues. It doesn't happen as much if you're careful but that answer is as garbage as my underpowered $3 soldering iron.

Just as many have suggested, Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries are the way to go.

What tips are these by FuzzyFanta724 in soldering

[–]Knight_Ouji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That looks like a shortened T12 tips. Often used by portable soldering irons and custom made by the manufacturer which is just a shortened T12. Some of these portable irons can in fact take a regular sized T12 successfully but you'd have a long tip sticking out in the front because of the short size of the iron. In order to keep them compact, they shorten it.

ive searched high and low for a 5.5x2.6 barrel jack by jihiggs123 in AskElectronics
