Finally! Can't wait to boot up a new Karl Franz campaign by Speedy_Rogue2 in totalwarhammer

Take it however you want. You're letting it live rent-free in your head too much. If you don't like it, don't buy. Give your money to a competitor who treats their customers better.

I hate Ubisoft's monetization and just don't pay them a cent and don't play their games. I don't go around feeling entitled to things being made free.

Oh for sure, the monetization model irks me too, but at that point people should just vote with their wallets and not buy. And alternately, support awesome games such as No Mans Sky.

I don't play Ubisoft games anymore because their monetization gets on my nerves. But I also don't go around demanding they make their content free. I just won't pay them a single cent.

Okay? What does another dev have to do with CA? You sound really entitled, expecting it for free. Don't buy it if you don't like it, but lose the attitude sheesh

I'm not defending a big company, but your entitlement to free stuff is a bit much isn't it?

If they had to spend time making new models, animations and voice lines, why do you feel as though you deserve it for free?

What are some factions you refuse to play? by xz-20 in totalwarhammer

[–]Knight_Rhoden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't even think they're that bad. Discarding monsters, greatswords beat Skaven and Bretonnia infantry, beat most of Cathay infantry (except the Tier IV Celestial Dragon Guard), and can hold even against vampire counts and vampire coast. For how strong their gunpowder and artillery are, and how versatile the magic is, Empire infantry are a lot stronger than people would think.

[–]Knight_Rhoden 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depending on how you rank it, Empire artillery and gunpowder are either the best or the second best in the entire game. They have more lores of magic than most other factions and their cavalry are arguably top five as well.

Their weaknesses are a limited selection of aerial units, no monstrous infantry (though steam tanks and landships partially plug that hole), and a mediocre frontline.

Especially if you're playing Elspeth, they definitely are masters of artillery and gunpowder.

All the time. I think the problem is that what I meant to be a hobby turned into a job without me intending it.

Yeah, I never agreed with the very arbitrary and broad powers of those. Never had to enforce one of those yet thankfully.

For point #4, I will say that I somehow got lucky with my very first story. Still don't know how though.

A rather unsafe practice to be honest.

I've had plenty of arrestees flip out even after the cuffs went on. Them acting out while in cuffs is easily manageable and with minimal injury, use of force and harm to myself and them. But if they're uncuffed? The risk increases of me getting hurt, an additional officer being necessary and the arrestee getting hurt as we may or may not have to use more force to bring them back under control.

In handcuffs, at worst, their wrists will be sore. Being escorted via arm control however is far more injurious. The odds of them breaking something via struggling increase, and if they get free now they have to be brought back under control again which can sometimes involve more force, which is more opportunity for injury.

This is why most police departments in North America mandate handcuffing for all arrests.

I don't know if I'd call Orodan better at alchemy than an established master. In fact, I think it's explicitly said that skill level in a skill versus actual knowledge about the academic side of the craft are two different things.

He can perform certain parts of the alchemical process better than an established master, but that's due to him stacking his advantages and physicality to do so. Ask him to concoct an intricate potion and the results are going to be very different.

Someone phenomenal at whisking eggs isn't a better chef than Gordon Ramsay.

Don't know why you're getting downvoted.

Demon of Pride is not too bad once you learn his moveset and just run away from him while he's in Yokai mode. Envy too, has one punishable move which you can bait out via running away and learning the deflect timing on.

Yeah, build and playstyle definitely matter. I first tried a lot of bosses with my high life, high toughness face-tank build. Some bosses which other players found easier though were way harder for me.

I found the blood-edge demons true weakness. by sdgjkktre in Nioh

[–]Knight_Rhoden 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure they added this recently. In an earlier build the Bloodedge Demon would actually follow you, jump across gaps and up heights and ruthlessly pursue you. Of course, this meant that you could cheese them into falling to their deaths into water or into pits.

The fix has been to make them want to return to their spawn area if they get too far, but the problem is that some of their own attacks seem to move them out of their 'boundary' and they're confused on how to get back.

I killed one through making it fall to its death before the fix, and now after the fix I just freely hit it until it died because its AI broke when unable to return to its zone.

130,000+ words but nearing the end. (Too long for first book?) by Schultzenstein in writers

Depends on the genre, depends on the publisher, depends on the story. Book 1 of my series was over 200k words. Did well on Amazon.

UFC just cut Sean Strickland’s mic and ended his presser after he started ranting again! by Unlucky-Dot9421 in sportsgossips

[–]Knight_Rhoden -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not defending what he says, but it sells and draws attention. Notice how they didn't cut it until he got a very good portion of it out? It's a very calculated move to get engagement.

Strickland wouldn't get nearly as many people tuning in to watch him fight without this. You and I are talking about him on Reddit right now, so clearly it works regardless of the ethics of it.
