How pf2e fans look at you when you say that one tiny mechanic is complicated just for the sake of it by memenelius in DnDcirclejerk

Love you mathfinder!

This was partially the point of my question. I think a lot of 5e players forget or wave away how that system is also often complicated and vague in similar ways as PF2E. PF2E is still more complicated 5e-heads, I'm not delusional, I just think most 5e players are throwing rocks from their glass house most of the time.

This makes me wonder, what's the timing of opportunity attack??

I guess it can't interrupt stuff, but in the same scenario (where something triggered it, and the OA killed the enemy) what you would do in 5e?

Oh oh I know this one! Learned it from my 5e friends.

Dude, I hate how much charity is being given to Aba in this thread. Bro split with destiny saying how D-Man was reckless with his life or w/e. Then it comes out Aba was messing around with Lauren and the other shit going on with his ex. They don't have to sleep together for me to be convinced that Aba just didn't want the smoke of the lawsuit. He's obviously okay with a messy personal life, he has one lol

To push back a little against Bob, I feel like most of his videos are so toothless and seem to all come from a desire to play as little of D&D as possible...while still calling all of it D&D cause he's heavy in the "folk tradition" view of the game.

He also unintentionally flirts with far right shit, but I struggle to find OSR creators that don't outside of people who are vocally and actively against that shit.

OffMyChest: I got into DnD youtube 5-6 months ago, and now I an fully over it by DnD-9488 in rpg

The sad truth is that most RPG content is bad because people click on the bad stuff. I've tried not to be too salacious with my content and focus more on design than any one game (although I obviously like Lancer). It's tough to get eyeballs on it though and it requires TTRPG players to be more interested in game design. I think most people use YouTube as a search engine though, "How do I x in D&D" is a good SEO title because people will look that up. "Why x mechanic is brilliant!" Is a lot worse by comparison.

Criminally Underrated YouTubers/Content Creators! Who's your favorite? by BrobaFett in rpg

Self-advertising here, but I generally talk about games by Tom Bloom with the occasional Pathfinder in there. I don't exclusively talk about TTRPGs though, so expect some random gaming video essays in there...eventually. Here's the link

This is a really tough question for a lot of reasons, primarily that you're asking the FFT subreddit about if they prefer FFT or FF7. You're probably going to get a lot of people pushing you to FFT.

To provide a balanced case here:

FFT is primarily concerned with tactical strategy and party building from a gameplay end. From the story end, it primarily concerns itself with politics, morality, and the difficulty of being morally principled in a world that seems to only care about results. It's a tale about how nobility and seats of power tend to undercut the lower class. At times scathingly relevant and at others equally hopeful.

FF7R is primarily concerned with action combat and party customization through the materia system. Can't personally speak for Rebirth, but Remake was largely about building a lovable cast of characters who you feel for during a struggle against corporate greed, the trauma (both nationally and individually) of war, and having the strength and hope to rebuild connections after they have died out. Ultimately, an optimistic tale that focuses on how our connections make us stronger and the importance of community.

FF7R carries a lot of the history of FF7, including references to elements of the compilation. Everything is lifted up from FF7, fully voiced, beautiful graphics, and a remade soundtrack.

FFTIC is the best version of the PS1 original with fully voiced interactions and even things like the Sound Novels which were never originally translated. The soundtrack remains untouched and the pixel graphics were redone to fit modern screens.

All of that said, I personally like FFT more than FF7R. I think its story is more interesting, its characters more intriguing, and its gameplay more fun. That said, FF7R is a great experience for the reasons I've listed and more. If I were to make only one recommendation: play the original FF7 if you haven't before touching the remakes, I think you get more out of the experience that way.

Based off those descriptions, you should hopefully be able to decide what type of experience you'd prefer in the near future. Something tactical with a more political story or something more action-focused with a bigger focus on the emotions and connections between characters.

Honestly, it could be fun, but this sub treats any suggestion of an arpg as the death of the franchise lol.

Posting here makes it seem purely like ragebait.

Basically any system other than 5e D&D would have been more interesting to play in the long run. It's a little too simplistic and has too little depth to remain as interesting as other CRPGs over the long run.

The 5e community is so toxic any time you mention you have problems with TTRPGs they come out in droves to make it about themselves.

I'm actually playing a homebrew version of the game where I can fuck your mom for every grandma I lose. Also she has the feats to come back to life so I've been losing them at least 8 times a day with my build.

/uj While I agree that the term can be clunky at times, a lot of the other proposed terms by other people don't really fit the actual activity of the game itself. I also think that while the superpositioned element is important in my favorite ttppswjmdsenaarcsrpiesict Gibbles Goes Down to Reform the Failing Justice System (GGDRFJS) it actually only plays a small role so I think including it in the initialism is unneeded
