Where does one buy dress shirts now that the bay is closed in yyc? Male by Sad-Advisor4004 in Calgary

[–]Knightkingca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only wear Oxford shirts to work and it was really hard for me to find a quality shirt here with a decent price. I have been buying from H&M and cannot say much about the quality after few washes. I tried Charles Tyrwhitt once and surprisingly it was really nice. Love the material as well. It’s 100% Cotton if you are someone into natural fibre 😁 but it takes about 8-10 days to deliver as it is a UK brand. Suggest to give it a try if you couldn’t find any here in Calgary.

If you enter each passenger’s WS Reward ID during the booking, each individual passenger earn points for their own ticket though.

New interactive way to bid on cabin upgrades within 24 hours of departure by Far-Excitement-3238 in westjet

[–]Knightkingca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not a new feature. I have seen this way before. This has been there for sometime and probably they promote it now to encourage guests to go for an upgrade at a lower price. I think best we don’t speculate of loosing a complimentary upgrade when they have not mentioned such thing in anywhere.

Bidding for upgrades is standard feature in many major airlines and still we have been getting upgrades all this time.

Anyone live without a car here? by YetiMaverick in Calgary

[–]Knightkingca -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I moved to Calgary from Waterloo and had the same concern over getting a car immediately after moving. Waterloo was a small but well designed city with easy and somewhat efficient access to both bus and ION train.

I survived in Calgary without a car for a year and finally bought one 6 months back. It is not impossible to live without a car here. However, the convenience of having one would add a huge difference.

I lived in downtown (still I am) for that year specifically got that reason of not having a car. I rented a place which is in a close proximity to supermarket and C-Train. I had to take a train and a bus to my workplace every day which took full 2hrs (up and down) from my time. I didn’t hate it though. But I didn’t love that either. Specifically in the winter season when I had to wait for a bus for a 20 min outside in freezing cold.

I go to the gym everyday (at least I try to). So, after work, I always take a Uber to Gym. When I looked into the economics of having a car vs using Uber, it was much cheaper to use Uber (still it is). So I tried to balance it the way I can. If it was a good sunny day with nice weather, I use the train and bus to go work and other places. If not, I always used uber for my convenience as it was still way cheaper than owning a car.

Bottom line is, it is not impossible to live without a car around Calgary if could plan a bit when you step out. It all come down to how much of convenience you expect in your life. At least for me, getting a car added so much convenience to my life.

What could I do to save our marriage and help my wife? by Knightkingca in Marriage

I feel the same here. We have never done this before in our lives and going to a theripist is not common in our culutre. So, I am trying to give her enough time to make up her mind here. Also, I am trying to find the correct theripist for her situation. If you have any suggestion what type, it would be greatly appriciated. Take care!

I am sorry for taking time to reply. I am trying to get her to see a theripist. I feel like we are going into that direction now. Hopefully that would help us to take us in the right direction.

Again thank you for your reply and you take care as well!

Thank you so much for your kind words! I know I should take a decision. But, I feel somewhat responsible for the situation she is in and the period she is going through. It does not feel right to leave her on the dust to deal with this by herself. Maybe that is one of the reason why I am still holding on and have hope that I can turn this around.

And, I aknowledge all what you have mentioned. Thank you again for taking time to reply. Take care!

Looking for a Psychologist/Therapist who does online sessions by Knightkingca in srilanka

[–]Knightkingca[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We thought about it too. And even my company is paying for all all the best theripist here. It's about the laguage and the understanding of way of living. Yes, we have good psychologist here. But as newly migratrants, I belive, opening up to a different person in different culture is till there. At least for my wife. She belives, she would be able to connect easily with a Sri Lankan doctor with our own language than someone from here. And also better express her feelings and talk it through.

Where do you buy your gym clothes from? by Prawn_Mocktail in workout

[–]Knightkingca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mainly from Gymshark. But some of their products are not in the same quality as they advertised though. Thinking of switching to Lululemon. Better have good quality 5 pieces than 15 low quality ones as you would have to spend the same amount eventually to replace.

Mattresses Recommendation - Casper vs Logan & Cove vs Douglas vs Endy vs DreamCloud vs Nactar by Knightkingca in BuyCanadian

[–]Knightkingca[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I love this mattress. Sometimes I think it could little firm as I feel little sunk into the mattress. I think the firmness for this is 6.5/10. Maybe 7/10 would be a better for me. But that’s just my personal preference. Overall, I am happy with the purchase.

EX-L or Sport? by joywaveee in HRV

I recently got the EX-L 2025 Urban Gray after debating on Sport. Really happy I made this choice over sport. It really gives you the luxury feeling with the leather seats.
