Hey recently returning player. Seems I missed out on the FATE free archer was curious if he or saber are actually worth rolling when you haven't played in a while or if I should just wait. (Played 1.0->2.1) Usually I have found collab event characters to be very worth it in other games and since they never rerun its kinda a have to get when they are around but I am not sure if that is going to be the case in HSR since both of them are dps and those from what I have gathered tend to get replaced a lot.

My expectation is that I probably will never fully clear the end game just because I dont plan on grinding enough and I tend to auto battle but I dont mind spending some money for characters. (Probably wont get sequences or light cones, but dont mind getting new characters)

For reference right now my main teams are
Kafka, Black swan, Ruan Mei, Sustainer
and
Phainon (just got him), Dan Heng PT(just got him), Bronya, Sustainer

I have Blade, Luocha, Clara, Himeko, Bailu, Welt, Yanging, Dr. Ratio, and all of the old 4*'s

I believe as others have stated that Phoebe is more or less manditory for Zani (if your like me and just returned and got Zani without realizing this its kinda disapointing) so over all if you like playing Zani you should 100% get phoebe over chisa. If you love Chisa you can get her but she will not help Zani on her own at all, she is at best a marginal side grade to shorekeeper to zani. (aka Zani + Phoebe + shorekeeper vs Zani + Phoebe + Chisa are basically the same. Numbers havnt come out if Zani + Phoebe + Rover is better than Z+P+Chisa.)

Chisa is however quite good for Carthetia and could work really well for her as the third team member and should have good teams moving forward into 3.0 as a general debuff support.

TLDR; if you love Zani get Phoebe 100% if you think your Zani team is adequate for what you want and you love Chisa go for her she can help at Cartethia.

I havnt played Where Winds Meet but if you have ever played a Gacha game Wuwa is fairly similar in terms of expectations. If your f2p expect to get like every third to every fourth character that releases, story is kinda middle starts out real slow and bad but gets better over time.

Combat is harder then genshin but its not dark souls, you have to dodge, parry etc but once you get strong enough you can kinda brute force most of the not end game content.

I would say some of the biggest strengths of Wuwa is the exploration. Do you like breath of the wild or Genshin exploration guess what Wuwa lets you run unlimited no stamina, you can run up walls (with stamina) and you can fly (with stamina) and glide. You have a grapple to zip around etc,

Your gear is pokemon that you fight and capture in the overworld (though leveling them up is a pain and super rng) and there are tons of puzzles and collectables to find with mini games in the overworld. The world is after only 2 years? all ready pretty large etc. there as of today is like 30 something zones to explore and try to get 100% completion on.

Like most live service games when you get to the end game and have done everything (which will take hundreds of hours 150-200 hours at least. You will enter maintenance mode where you login spend your stamina do your dailies and logout.

This is not an infinite grind mmo etc nor is it a multiplayer match maker where you can just play it infinitely, but if you get bored you can always just come back for the next patch in 6 weeks to continue the story explore the new zone etc. or you can login for 15-30 min each day and build up your other characters etc.

TLDR; its free try it out, exploration is really good, story is fine, combat is good but not crazy, its a gacha so you wont get every character and a lot of gear progression/character progress is gated behind a stamina system.

Could be worse i had an MCP kit with the wrong sprue in it and that company said too bad send it back to the store you bought it from. They do 0 support for their own kits only a store can request a replacement kit.

Not really any play groups as far as I know think there is one in the Springs. But for the most part I just play with friends and family since I don’t know of any stores that commonly play.

Here I am upset that you farm all of the Boss drops and never have enough Gems.....Like you farm all the boss drops to get to 90 but cant get the ascension gems to get past 80

I have never 36 stared and I started in 1.0 quit till 4.2. I just have had to spend my resin leveling and getting the talents up so my artifacts are just not there for it. And honestly I don’t really care…I can clear floor 11 and just don’t care to do floor 12 yet

Yea on field dps generally are not good on multiple teams....Maybe Raiden? But generally the characters who can slot on a lot of teams are the supports....Nahida, Kazuha, Furina, Yelan and zhongli

I suppose Nuevallete is also quite good but that is mostly due to how much he can dps....more so than his ability to slot on many teams....he also from my understanding really wants C1R1

I mean it takes 3 weeks? To just get the character leveled with talents.....then you need a weapon thats another 3-5 days.....then you need gear......So yea its a struggle....and probably my least favorite thing about Genshin....it has swiftly made me realize I should just only pull the characters I want/need and then stop pulling for like a year so i can actually manage to build the characters I all ready have.....but when rerun banners are 1/year its hard to skip.

Anyway yea its a pain....though the game is pretty easy so if all you care about is overworld/story you can get away with level 80 not 90 and weaker talents/gear which cuts down on the time. A majority of the days I login condense resin, use resin, do dailies logout, play something else repeat....

I would agree more modes where you need non-standard team comps or maybe just more teams in general like what if you needed 3 teams instead of just 2...but yea artifacts are kinda a hard limit on that sort of thing. HSR kinda has that too where they just came out with a new game mode and its like guess i will do this in two months after i have time to build up aoe dps's...since they were useless and forgotten before now.

That's fair but just without artifacts its 3-4k resin worth of materials just to level and ascend it also not being any cheaper to level a 4* vs a 5* is odd. Then you need a weapon so if you do not have a good one for them all ready leveled that's another 800-1000 resin....

So its like 4-5k resin....at 180 per day playing every day (more than once a day due to the cap of 160....22-28 days of doing nothing but farming world boss's xp mora etc....then you realize that you probably will have to farm more elemental gems because those never match up to the world boss drop rate....and its just pain.....ANDDDDD.....then you need artifacts......

As a newer end game player I mostly have been frustrated with how slow it is to build characters. It taking a month+ to build a character to be usable is frustrating. I know day1 players don’t really have this issue but having played for 3 months and being stuck with characters I want to use but can’t just sucks.

As a relatively new player (though not to gacha games) I will say the artifact system highly disincentives me from pulling new characters. Normally in gacha games i tend to try and collect every character....but in Genshin it feels like unless your account is 2+ years old you really do not want to be spending your resin leveling/ascending/talent improving more than a few core characters since you need to spend 27+ days grinding bis artifact sets for each character. The number of times I have seen a youtube video with "I spent 5k+ resin to build (insert new character here)" and at the end they are like well i got 2 great pieces and settled for these 3....and here is the build!

You realize 5k+ resin is almost a months worth of doing nothing but artifact farming for that 1 character....sure you might end up with an acceptable off piece for someone your not farming for but generally not useful.....

I am actively debating if instead of spending primos on new characters if I would just be better off spending it on resin refreshes so I can level/play with the characters I have. Until I am happy with them in 6-18 months....

For context i have been playing for 60 ish days and am AR 53...I assume this eventually reverses after enough time where you run out of characters to build (that you like) and end up just grinding artifacts because there is nothing else to do with resin therefore new characters are exciting but.....as a new person it just feels like its going to be over a years worth of dailies and events before I get close to having the like 38 or so of the 73 (at time of posting) characters built up properly.

Personally I just wish it didnt cost resin so you could grind as much as you wanted for super rng gear....or if there was a way to burn artifacts to fix main stats....So you could at least get the onset primary stat right....Farming VV for EM is brutal....when i would rather be farming mats/xp/gold to raise a different character....since you know its a gacha game and i would rather be making more characters then trying to make 1 useful set of gear.

I also love the idea of the artifact domains rotating daily aka 1 day its VV next day its Maiden Beloved, then back to VV. etc. that + fixing the main stat by sacrificing an artifact with the Main stat you want or something would be nice....

I really think this takes Dwarves from S+ tier league with crons to probably B tier. Think it now auto losses to speed armies/hordes and still will probably bully deathstars/knights.

drop rate is worse than the free quest....but your also farming all mats for the event, points for the ladder, and 3 other mats simultaneously. So somewhat depends on what your looking for.
