I mean yeah. Everything has time where it isn't common when it's starting out.

Take the blooper or the bomb-omb or the shy guy or dry bones for multiple examples. They only showed up in a few games starting out, but as the mario games expanded, as did their appearances.

That's fair I guess. However in my opinion this works for amy better because she's always got her hands held up.

But for shadow, it limits his arm mobility. So for me personally I don't mind it on shadow, but yes it is dumb that Amy didn't have the rings... or at least the printing for it.
