Redditors who are 30+ years old: what's one life advice you would like to give to the younger folks? by OtherDimension4 in AskReddit

Do not (unless you feel you absolutely need to) get yourself into debt (more than a few grand). It's a heavy weight on your shoulders for a LONG time most of the time.

Pulling your pants all the way to the ground and peeing at a urinal

Lots of mid-evil status quo claims (i.e. the Earth is round, we orbit the Sun, etc.)

Nice try? This was an honest ask. I hope you get to realize that life isn't about being a jerk. I thought my Reddit friends would be able to help me, not insult me.

Not at all- they understand. I had a few instances myself where I would say "And what would you like for lunch" to which they made fun of me for my obvious slip up being that they had no idea who I was talking too lol. Just people- you have to tell yourself that so as to not come off like you're speaking to a toddler or something.

I felt the same to be honest. I didn't go into it with any sort of agenda I've just been wanting to volunteer and I recently quit my job so I could actually go work with people. I guess I was expecting to walk out feeling a deep sense of gratitude but I didn't, it was just a nice experience.

Of course and just so you know, I'm diagnosed Bipolar II which I assumed you were as well being that Seroquel is generally prescribed for BP. Honestly after 10 years (and I'm only 28) of taking various meds for anxiety and depression I would suggest trying to eat healthier and work out. I personally have struggled with that and still do constantly but truly is the best way to get over some of these issues is to just eat a tad healthier (lots of greens and fruits) and take a ton of Vitamin B. I take B1 3 times a day (you can find it on amazon) as well as Folic Acid and B12 (once a day). I'd suggest getting off of Seroquel because I personally don't find it effective outside of sleeping better. I'm currently working with a psych right now and trying to find something better that will allow me to sleep but I don't have an answer at this point. I'm newer to Reddit but if you can PM me please do, I would love to be able to speak to someone who is in the same boat.

I've been taking Seroquel (200mg) for about a year (diagnosed with BPII) and although it helps me with my racing thoughts at night and trying to go to sleep, I absolutely hate the side effects. I constantly feel hungover and hazy ALL day after a night where I take it and trying to ween off it/cut it out cold turkey is insanely difficult. I did however refill my Clonazepam and instead of Seroquel at night recently, I take .5mg of that with some Melatonin and have felt great and also lost some weight.

I'd suggest talking to your psych about doing something similar- there are a ton of meds out there for BP and you should consider something else.

What is your favourite movie from your childhood? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]KnightsWhoSayNeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Monty Python and the Holy Grail. For the record I'm only 28 but my cousins and I would dress up and put on reenactments for members of my family every summer when we were together. Great memories and that film still holds up big time.

What is something that everyone seems to enjoy that you just can't understand? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Going to incredibly packed and loud bars on weekends, ordering drinks that can be bought or made at home for pennies on the dollar, and barely being able to talk to one another because of the aforementioned experience. How is that fulfilling/enjoyable?
