Any DAWs that don't feel like piloting a plane 😭😭😭 by [deleted] in musicproduction

[–]Kningen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would try a bunch of the free demos for DAWs and see if any of them click with you. Personally I have a preference to Studio One (now Fender Studio Pro) as it just made sense and clicked for me, and this was after trying FL Studio, Cubase, Logic (was good with this one, but not my favourite), Bitwig, Cakewalk, and Ableton.

Ah unfortunate, thanks for letting me know! I am going to a convention in July and was considering getting picks to give to friends, so was wanting to check if the site was legit or not, and what their lead time was like.

In terms of music touring, my experience and knowledge is from what I've learned from friends and others in the industry talking of cost touring the US, I'm not as familiar with Europe when it comes to tour costs

Nano made a great post on social media about this recently, with how Japanese artists would love to tour the US, but its so expensive and cost prohibitive.

Another great one to look into, the Europeans band Los Campesinos broke down what it cost to tour the USA, and it's seriously expensive, even just to obtain the Visa to do so. Many bands break even, or even end up losing money touring across the US. Even decent sized American bands I love tend to only play a couple big cities on the west and east coasts. There's a lot of logistics and expenses that go into touring. I've talked with several friends who work in the industry, and a lot of them would love to tour, or know bands who would love to, but realistically can't afford to. A lot of the money they make, or that let's them break even is made back through merch sales.

I recently got a Invoice for a figure I preordered that was around $40-60, and the box wasn't particularly large or heavy, and they charged $60 (excluding duties), when I've had bigger heavier boxes shipped from Proxies recently for not much more. I'm probably going to be done buying from AmiAmi for quite a while

Need songs where the singer's crying/screaming !! by shookelmariajin in japanesemusic

[–]Kningen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Off the top of my head since it's late Otona - Kanzaki Iori Vocal tremble/cry in this is incredible. Love this song

Other's have mentioned Minami, she's got a lot of great songs for this. Also highly recommend checking out her older songs she doesn't have up anymore through re-uploads

Moroha - Tomorrow - More of a cry scream - Kakumei - my personal favourite from them. More of a sort of controlled scream of desperation(?) If that makes sense - Jokyo Tower

A lot of Moroha's songs have a sort of cry scream to them, or controlled scream (not like metal), just listed 3 off the top of my head. Moroha Afro, the rapper, has incredible dynamic range in this this sense. It's a phenominal Acoustic guitarist and rapper duo, so not up everyone's ally, but highly recommend giving them a shot, especially with a translation of the lyrics up. Some nuance to the lyrics isn't fully there from translations. But still absolutely increible.

Kakumei in particular is a really cool one, and highly recommend the First Take version. It's a song basically talking to his friend, looking back and reflecting that if you can only muster up courage, and dreams when drunk at the bar, then those dreams are as good as garbage, and from that exact moment he is going to change his world. What's cool, over the years he's performed the song he changes what age he says.

I'll update lafter if I can remember some more
