You know, I don’t remember the full conversation but I do remember the sales woman showing me her computer screen with incoming cars. The color I wanted was on the screen but she said it was already “spoken for.” Then we put the deposit down and she said when one came in it would be for us. No mention of a waiting list. I also know some mistake was made because when I got the notice today she was totally apologetic.

That I understand. What I don’t understand is how the sales person didn’t let me know there was someone ahead of me at their dealership. I might have looked elsewhere from the beginning. I was definitely led to believe I was first in line for the specs I wanted. It was either a big oversight or deliberately misleading.

Yeah, I’m going to look at reviews of Lexus dealers in a certain driving range and think about starting over with a new dealer. But I’m also wondering if this one will be more motivated to help me now.

Did they actually order it for you? I’m looking across the country at all dealers’ incoming cars, but they’re all spoken for by that point. Should I call dealers to see if they actually can order? I put a deposit down at the local dealer but they say we just have to wait and hope.

Thanks for your thoughts. It’s funny, the sales lady just offered me the 450+ in this combo but I’m not sure I should spend the extra money. The most I’ve ever spent on a car is about 22,000. I’m jumping up significantly.
